http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/5586543/Is-this-the-death-of-the-dollar.html Anybody heard about this? Two Japanese guys were arrested in Italy trying to pass over the Swiss border, and they had a briefcase with a hidden compartment in it. Inside the compartment were $134bn in $500m-denominated US Treasury bonds... and according to the governments involved, they were fake. Of course, that makes no sense. If they were fake, how did they manage to forge them? You can't know what a $500m piece of paper looks like without access to the real thing. Second, you need to have access to incredibly good technology to fake something like this - we're not ta…

Forget About Iran, Canada a Bigger Risk to Oil Market, Energy Trader Says The eyes of the world are fixed on the election protests in Iran. Yet, while unrest reigns in one of the world’s largest oil producers, crude prices have actually fallen below $70 a barrel. Stephen Schork, editor of The Schork Report, says that’s because traders have already priced in the risk. Get this: The big risk to prices, Schork says, comes from our friendly neighbors to the north. Canada is America’s biggest supplier of oil - most of it coming from tar sands. The problem, according to Schork, is that the Obama administration has taken “a rather belligerent stance” toward that supply bec…

From MSNBC: LOS ANGELES - Ed McMahon, the loyal “Tonight Show” sidekick who bolstered boss Johnny Carson with guffaws and a resounding “H-e-e-e-e-e-ere’s Johnny!” for 30 years, died early Tuesday. He was 86. McMahon died shortly after midnight at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center surrounded by his wife, Pam, and other family members, said his publicist, Howard Bragman. Bragman didn’t give a cause of death, saying only that McMahon had a “multitude of health problems the last few months.” McMahon had bone cancer, among other illnesses, according to a person close to the entertainer, and had been hospitalized for several weeks. The person spoke on condition of…

http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/jun/12/senate-backs-limits-on-nicotine-levels-ads/ So they lower the levels of nicotine and smokers have to buy more cigarettes to get the same usual level... So if they were to cut the level in half, someone smoking 2 packs a day would need four, sounds like Tobacco companies and anyone who profits from them(government through taxes) will make a huge profit, while smokers pay a lot more and I would assume have more health problems from more cigarettes. Once again government saves the day! Hahaha so by making people need more cigarettes they will make them healthier thus reducing costs? Maybe we could lim…

The shocking figures prove the message about sun protection is still not getting through to British holidaymakers. The poll also revealed women are three times more likely than men to end up with lobster skin, with ladies from Birmingham apparently the worst offenders. Falling asleep in the sun was the main reason for having sco…

After the Britain's Got Talent backlash, Simon Cowell finally admits: 'Sorry, I did make mistakes' By Simon Cowell Last updated at 1:31 AM on 20th June 2009 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Breaking the habit of a lifetime: Reality TV ringmaster Simon Cowell admits he's made mistakes along the way After eight years of being a judge on talent shows on both sides of the Atlantic, few things surprise me any more. Least of all, the flak that has been directed my way. If, like me, you make a living from criticising people on television, then you can't complain when people turn the tables and criticise you. And I don't. But this year has bee…

Swiping playfully at the camera, it's hard to imagine she could be a danger to anything - except, perhaps, her favourite toy mouse. But to postmen, Illy the kitten might as well be a snarling rottweiler. They say that the six-month-old moggie once jumped up at the letterbox and delivered a painful scratch to a postwoman's hand. So fearful are they of a repeat performance that they have sent a strongly worded letter to Illy's owners - warning them to discipline her or face a delivery ban. Kenneth Ridge, 65, and his son Bradley, 30, yesterday spoke of their shock at receiving the note describing Illy's 'attack'. 'Reading this letter you'd think I had a rottweiler …

After todays one sided British Grand Prix is Sebastian Vettel in for an incredible comeback in the World Championship? I wouldn't rule it out because in 2006 we saw the great Michael Schumacher almost achieve one of the great comebacks after drawing equal with Fernando Alonso on points only to see fate destroy his hopes after his Ferrari engine blew up towards the end of the penultimate round in Japan. Schumacher was 26 points behind at one stage but I can't see Button having another weekend like this weekend.

Jucelino Nobrega da Luz prophecized a devastating 9 mag earthquake in China for 13 September 2008 with about 1 Million death (Hainan or Nanning Region). He said that if it was not in China than in Japan (Region Tokai). He also said that the quake may possibly not occur. This is another prophecy that did not fulfill. The next big earthquake should be in Osaka (Japan) with 8.9 on Richter scale and 500.000 Death on 25. January 2009. I do not believe that it will come. I am sure there are parties as such here in Spain, in fact I reckon the main party not in goverment is here... However I am going to return to a place I know well, the UK. There are parties like the BNP and UKIP who I reckon should be banned end off. People say, "well you are defeating the whole point of democracy" My answer to that, Bollocks these people should not be given even a second of public air time. It leads to more ill educated people, randomly attacking people, preduces against people that have even been born in their country !! Perfect example and outcome this has lead to, well In the UK. You get places like Moss Side, in the early 70s lead…

Birds do it, bees do it... in fact virtually all animals have 'gay' relationships, scientists say By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 1:43 PM on 17th June 2009 Comments (37) Add to My Stories Homosexuality exists through almost the entire animal kingdom and may even be vital for the survival of the species, according to new research. Same-sex pairings have previously been observed in more than 1,000 species including dolphins and penguins, but now scientists say they also happen among worms, frogs, birds and many, many others. The findings fly in the face of conventional views of how animal species thrive and are bound to ruffle the feath…

What's so special about Asda's Extra Special Curry Sauce... the dead mouse in it By Debra Killalea Last updated at 4:05 PM on 17th June 2009 Comments (29) Add to My Stories When Cate Barrett brought a £1.49 jar of tikka masala sauce from her local Asda store, she was expecting it to contain a bit of a kick. But what she wasn't expecting to find was the dead mouse which had somehow ended up in the jar - along with the rest of her favourite sauce. The nursery worker had begun making dinner for herself and her boyfriend, Nigel, when she poured the sauce into the pan, and noticed it was a little lumpy. As she began stirring the sauce thr…

What are your most memorable sporting moments ever witnessed?? For me only two events stand out. First of all I go for what is widely regarded as the greatest football match ever. The date - 25th May 2005, the venue - Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, the match - Liverpool vs Ac Milan in the Champions League Final. Most memorable night of my life. Liverpool won the match on penalties... only after coming back from 3-0 down against the mighty Italians. HELENA, Mont. (AP) -- Job applicants with the city of Bozeman are finding that their private Internet discussions and pictures may not be so private after all. The city is asking job seekers for the user names and passwords to Internet social networking or Web groups to which they belong. The decision is sparking an outcry from those who say the policy goes way too far. The issue has spawned hundreds of comments on Web forums and sharp criticism from legislators and the ACLU. "I liken it to them saying they want to look at your love letters and your family photos," said Amy Cannata, with the American Civil Liberties Union of Montana. "I think this policy certainl…
