So I need people from EU states to help me with something! I have to write a paper about "Lisbon treaty" and I would like you to tell me what you think about it. Did your governments actually explain what it is or you just went to referendum and voted whatever. Also I would love your opinion is it good or bad, will it change anything... I thought this might be an interesting topic to discuss! I began a quest to see what 10 billion people would actually look like, and it turns out that if we all stood within two feet (roughly 2/3 meter) of one-another, and stood in formation, the marching square for 10 billion (projected human population in a few years) would only be 75 miles, or ~120 kilometers, on a side. Putting this to scale on a map gives us some perspective to how big humanity is, if we were seen from above.. And then, calculating the productivity of my garden, assuming I live in an average area of North America for climate and soil fertility, it takes about 1/6th of an acre (1/15th hectare) …

I don't know if this should be in the International section. If it should, I'm sure it'll be moved. There are a lot of people on this board whose first language isn't English. Including me. The idea of this thread is to ask and answer other people's questions about English and its proper use. As much as this board has helped me with learning English (mostly because it's forcing me to use English every day), I am aware that people make mistakes too and are not always paying attention to what they write, so I don't want this thread to be somebody's only source of learning English. Recently a centipede appeared in my bathroom... And it hid in a crack. :angry: So i used a cockroach spray and sprayed the insecticide into the crack. I don't know if the centipede is dead or alive. Any idea whether cockroach spray works on centipedes?:thinking:

I was down to one pair of contacts and lost the left one. So now I must go through until Monday with one contact in. I should have bought glasses just encase, because of course my eye doctor is closed most the time.

The dancing inmates are back, this time with a tribute to Queen. Yes, the Filipino prisoners who are taught dance routines in order to improve their health and general well-being did several MJ tributes this year, but have now moved on. Granted, there's a little Styx in the mix, but besides that they did an excellent job of shuffling together the best of Queen and pulling off a dance interpretation worthy of rock royalty.
