Christmas should be 'downgraded' to be equal to other religious festivals, says top think tank Last updated at 15:36pm on 31st October 2007 Comments (11) National celebration: But could Christmas soon be 'downgraded'? Labour's favourite think tank was ridiculed today after it cast doubt on the celebration of Christmas. In a call for a more multi-cultural Britain, the Institute of Public Policy Research said if we can't get rid of Christmas then we must mark other big religious festivals too. But shadow communities secretary Baroness Warsi hit out at the leaked report which also called for Parliament and the monarchy to be stripped of Chr…

  7. Goodbye old girl, how the loss of a man's best friend effects one dog lover By BRUCE FOGLE - More by this author » Last updated at 21:44pm on 31st October 2007 Comments At the moment, I am unanchored. Emotionally adrift. Not because my marriage has hit the skids, or because my children are unwell. I haven't lost my job. I'm not even moving home. My mind's in a stew for a banal, some of you might say a really trivial, reason: my dog died. It's not that my dog was anything particularly special. She was a family dog, a six-year-old female golden retriever, one of the umpteen dogs you might see every day being exercised by their owners. But she was my dog, a …

I was watching the telly a few mins ago and they asked a question that I had never thought about... and I think it's pretty interesting. Imagine that your partner was betraying you. Who would you prefer he/she did it with, I mean, with someone of the same sex than your partner or someone of the opposite one? you know, guys, I feel really curiosity for your replies.

The notifications will be part of a tough new stance to tackle rising levels of obesity, following a national initiative to weigh all children in schools. Ministers including Health Secretary Alan Johnson are preparing to face accusations of stigmatising fat children over the plan but believe it is in the children's best interest if a problem is formally brought to the attention of their parents.
