i think part of the reason might be because they might not to be done yet or they might actually be waiting on the release dates of a couple of others albums to avoid any clashes.

That's BS, waiting on other albums to be released, that's something the record company will be worrying about not the band.

Roll on album 4 though :D

*plays say hello to the angels*

^^

well at the end of the day it is the record labels choice when the album comes out as the band is with Capitol who are fairly major-ish

I hate record companies whom decide to 'sit' on completed albums to wait for a 'gap in the market', it's not like it's the latest 5-minute x-factor wonderstar album.

Apparently Carlos left the band.

After the completion of the album, Carlos informed the rest of us that he would be leaving the band. He has decided to follow another path, and to pursue new goals. This separation is amicable, and we whole-heartedly wish him great happiness and success. We will remain, as always, deeply respectful fans of this blazingly talented individual.

:shocked2:

NO way. :(

wow, that's depressing....

at least the album is complete, if that's any consolation...

That at least indicates to me that this departure was planned rather than spontaneous. After all, he did stick around to make sure the record could be completed. Still, his replacement(s) has high standards to live up to. Here's hoping for the best, and good luck to Carlos with whatever he does.

of course.

To me Carlos added so much personality to the band.

He reminded me a LOT of Peter Hook, with infections bass riffs.

and he has the respect to stay around! :)

cannot wait for this record!

I watched that again. What a prick.

Hopefully his departure will mean a drastic change of direction for lp5 that we've been needing since Antics.

lol

he was a dick, that interview was somewhat hilarious

I've been a mega Interpol fan since first hearing total perfection -- aka "Turn On The Bright Lights." I am not surprised at all that Carlos is leaving. He's appeared unhappy & disinterested for the last few years. During the last tour, he appeared to be half-heartedly going through the motions. He's made it known that he was interested in pursuing other things and that he hated touring. I think this decision was a long time coming and I wish him well.

I am very interested to hear the new Interpol. I know it couldn't have been easy to try to continue as a cohesive band when one member is obviously miserable. I think this will prove the best move for all parties.

well the album was completed upon his departure.. so it does contain "Carlos" in the equation... they'll have 'guest' bassists playing with them apparently.

true... he never really liked all the hoopla that came with touring. Makes my Antics finale pics all the more rewarding when I see him smile and bear hug Sammy... lol but I just can't imagine Interpol without any of them. I too wish him well.. and I'm actually a fan of is scores and such... he's so creative, and I can understand his decision. It seems the only logical solution..

he'll be missed

good riddance. he was a complete prick during interviews, i will never forgive him for the way he behaved during their last australian tour. the band will be fine without him.

this, besides I always thought that he looked like a complete dousche when he played live, with the extra loose strap and shades....

Nice! I'm seeing them in Montreal.

I'm kinda hoping/thinking that they'll play European festivals in August, although I wasn't that impressed when I saw them 3 years ago.

Got tickets for the last scheduled show in Lancaster, PA. I'm sure more dates are coming.

You'd think there'd be some official word on the new album before the first show in Rochester. Especially since any new stuff played at these shows will be all over youtube. Why no word??????

No idea why there's no word.

But with Lights, I think this album is going to be loud, in a good way.

I am really excited. I've stuck myself with Interpol's 3 records the past week and have just each day realized more and more how brilliant they are, not that I didn't already think that! :)

  • 3 weeks later...

With the headline "Interpol announce UK and Ireland shows" you would assume it would be a nice list of shows of UK and Ireland,

But no, just Edinburgh and Dublin, with 'more to follow'

Please Bournemouth date
