December 19, 200817 yr Come on guys you cant use the refer of Bono and Paul in the same paragraph. You'r gunna confuse the hell out of people who don't know who Paul Hewson and Dave Evans are.
December 20, 200817 yr i am over the moon excited about the new album title and release date! Now will they pull off a spring tour (later spring of course)? Time will tell and I certainly hope so. We should be hearing in the next couple weeks (beginning of jan.) about the new single off the album. From what I read it should be Get your boots on (rumored at one time Sexy Boots). So keep ur eyes and ears open for it..:D
December 20, 200817 yr No Line On The Horizon is going to destroy Viva La Vida. That coming from a huge Coldplay fan. I expected a lot from Coldplay when I heard Eno was on board. When we get reports of U2 in Fez with Eno, Lanois, and Lillywhite...I expect brilliance. I expect Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby. I expect something new and original. Boy am I excited for this album...all I know is its gonna be something new and amazing. Of course I do expect Mercy, but I have a feeling we wont get it. None the less. How many plan to buy the $100 option. I know I have mine ordered already!
December 20, 200817 yr ^ i bet they will. And certainly with tour sales. 2009 is gonna be their year that's for sure.

Coldplay will release an album in 2009 too, so you never know but considering Coldplay have released an album this year, and U2 havent in a long time maybe U2 will get the limelight but still gonna be a great year!!
December 20, 200817 yr No Line On The Horizon is going to destroy Viva La Vida. without a fuckin doubt

December 20, 200817 yr U2 are over the hill, they are like the rolling stones and Oasis. Only releasing new albums as an excuse to tour the world.
December 20, 200817 yr And on a mildly related frequency of thought..:) During his younger years, Bono and his friends were part of a surrealist street gang which they called "Lypton Village". (makes me wonder - named after Lipton soup or tea?:laugh3: Hmm..) This friendly group began performing in public places (apparently city buses) for the purpose of provoking people (in what way?). Bono had several names: first, he was "Steinvic von Huyseyman", Huyseyman, then "Houseman", then "Bon Murray", then "Bono Vox of O'Connell Street," and finally just "Bono." Next time I see him, I'll have to holler out, "Hey Steinvic, great tunes on the harpsichord!":laugh3: Any clues as to the deep philosophical meaning of these names??:P

December 21, 200817 yr I belive that album is called, "Pop". BOOM CHA! Time to get out your notebooks Coldplay, IT'S TIME TO GET SCHOOLED! Hey now, I love Pop!
December 21, 200817 yr I second someone's point about my musical interests changing since their last album. Not so much that their 90s work was their best...not so much really imo. I think U2 knows what they're doing and that they, unlike the Rolling Stones and Oasis, are actually good at putting new stuff out - even if it might not be their best. They are always experimenting. I think we can expect something good if not great. I'm looking forward to a horizon with no line.
December 21, 200817 yr Truthfully, everyone does - they just won't admit it!:laugh3: OH YEAH, BECAUSE WE ALL JUST LOVE BONO'S BUBBLE PANTS!

The truly try to reinvent themselves with each album they try something different, sometimes slightly sometimes more than.. With the fact that the spent a considerable amount of time in Morroco recording we will definitely see some of that influence in the new stuff and who knows what else. Edge is constantly trying to venture into new territory each time they go into the studio. I think this album will do just that.. I am so looking forward this new album and a new tour in 2009!

December 21, 200817 yr They know what they are doing when it comes to being tax-dodgers they do pay taxes you know.. You need to be more specific here.. If you are speaking about them as a business, yes from what I read they moved their business to the Netherlands. And they are not the only big band that has done this either. But if you are speaking in terms of personal taxes yes they still pay this individually in Ireland.
December 22, 200817 yr i second that WTF... that shot must of been from the video they did "Father Christmas" I noticed Bono had eyeliner on with his glasses... see the video here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jgswWMlUN8]YouTube - U2 - I Believe In Father Christmas [u2's contribution to (RED)WIRE][/ame]
