cool that you got to go! Seems like it'd be quite a show!

I was thinking about going but decided not to. I can't honestly stand Roger Waters. Not just his arrogance, but the fact he's only touring material 30 years old during a year that isn't even the anniversary of the album. Not to mention he's lipsynched his voice, and I feel a lot of these songs at these shows were lipsynching.

Last week a Pink Floyd cover band played at my school  It was awesome :wacky:

He's doing a lot of shows in the Los Angeles area. He's here right now, in fact. I'd love to go, but I have a hard time justifying the high cost. Tickets are freaking expensive to this show.

don't go because you're essentially paying to see him stand around and mouth words while other people play the music.

My friend got back from the show and said I have to go because it's mind blowing. This guy doesn't throw out complements easily, so now I feel pressured to go.

I just got back from Roger Waters' "The Wall" concert. I highly recommend people check out this show if given a chance. You kind of need to suspend your idea of what a concert is - this is is very much a theatrical, musical event. I would even recommend seeing this show if Roger Waters didn't show up; it's that impressive visually. The fact that he is at the show, obviously, provides a sense of authenticity that makes it all the better. The stage show production is unlike anything I've ever seen before, perhaps matched in scale only by U2. However, the Roger Waters' show is nothing like U2. Where as the U2 show is an honest to goodness rock concert, the Roger Waters' show is like a high priced, special effects musical show that you would maybe see at a large casino in Las Vegas. Money was no object in the show production; he went all out. Of course, I think The Wall is such a stellar album, and essentially it is all Roger Waters, which adds more genuineness than "The Dark Side..." Tour.

As many of you know from my other posts, I am a memorabilia junkie. He received a police escort out of the venue, but his caravan had to wait at a stop sign. I went up to his SUV and knocked on his window holding up my The Wall cd. He was kind enough to roll down and sign it before he drove off. I know he can be an arrogant son of gun, but he has always been nice to fans. Maybe he just enjoys the adoration. Who knows? I've got no beef with him, though.

I am going to try to go to tomorrow's show. There was so much to take in that a second show couldn't hurt anything but my wallet, which is a little lighter after night one :)

^ Yeah, thanks. It was really good. Tomorrow marks the end of his U.S. leg of the tour, and I think he's off to Europe afterwards. I think he will add another U.S. leg to this tour. He is getting big crowds, great reviews, and racking in money left and right. I would recommend checking out the show if it comes your way again. The dude is 67; he isn't going to be doing this that much longer.

Pink Floyd are releasing remastered versions of their albums later this year...

Pink Floyd are set to re-release remastered versions of the albums in their back catalogue with EMI later this year.

The band resolved a legal dispute with the label earlier this year and have now announced an extensive reissue campaign under the banner ‘Why Pink Floyd?', which will start in September this year. All 14 of their studio albums have been remastered and repackaged, and will be released on September 26.

On the same day special and deluxe editions of their classic album ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ will be released, with both a six-disc ‘Immersion’ box set and a two-disc ‘Experience’ box set coming out. They will also be released on vinyl and in digital editions.

On November 7, meanwhile, the band's 1965 album ‘Wish You Were Here’ will be released in the same formats as well as a new compilation, ‘A Foot In The Door: The Best Of Pink Floyd’. Finally, on February 7 next year, their 1979 LP ‘The Wall’ will be available as ‘Immersion’ and ‘Experience’ collections and on vinyl and digital editions.

Roger Faxon, CEO of EMI Group said: ”This is a unique collaboration between EMI and one of the most creative and influential bands in history. We have worked together for more than a year on this programme which incorporates all the elements that have made Pink Floyd one of the most inspiring forces in modern music.”

sooooooo over all these re-releases! *sigh*

I agree, I've been getting a bit tired of re-releases myself. I mean not even like 5 years ago I finished getting pretty much all of Floyd's material. And now it's being released again? I can't keep up or spend the money.

Though... If they have unreleased stuff i'll get it off itunes

It's so hard to keep up. It's not even one reissue these days. There's like 4 or 5 different versions of the same album. I already have 2 different versions of DSOTM and The Wall.

Gilmour made an appearance at one of Roger Water's The Wall performances yesterday

Kind of makes me want to go see that Wall performance though Waters is a scumbag

You should go see it. It's the most visually astounding concert I've ever attended. Like I said before, I'd go see it even if Roger wasn't involved. Him being there just adds authenticity. And unlike his DSOM tour, he can stake a greater claim to The Wall. That's pretty much all his.

I see it on Saturday in Düsseldorf.

Sorry i woundered that i must see alll this Childreen shit like Lady Gaga etc. before i find the one and only Pink Floyd.

Greetings from cologne and sorry for my english

i'm very jealous you get to see this great album performed live!! it's my 2nd most favourite album of all time.

i'm assuming you mean that the past had pink floyd and the kids of today have to listen to lady gaga. personally i think that's a shocking comparison. there are bands out there today who may not be like pink floyd but they're brilliant nonetheless.

enjoy the show.

I hope there is a 2nd leg to this tour. I would like to see it again. There was too much to take in at the first show...sensory overload.
