ahh I've been having a lot of concentration problems lately can't concentrate listening to it.. but I will but the cd and then give it a proper go.

 

anyway, second time listening to it with not so much concentration aaand Suburban War is great.

they've had the album on the shelves at certain stores in sydney since thursday. but i can only find one of the covers and its the crappy one. :(

Yeah the store I went to only had two different versions of the cover. I just went for the standard one.

 

Been listening to the record a couple of times now. Too early to make my mind up. But the one song that really impressed me out of nowhere was "modern man".... that stop-start beat, it's INCREDIBLE. And bloody hard to play with that timing! Such a great inclusion.

I can't believe it. i went to 4 records stores today in the biggest place within an hour drive from my house and it wasnt there anywhere. I was very disappointed because now I will have to wait like, another month just listening to the leaked quality.

Sydney Morning Herald's music guru summed up his take on the album in one paragraph.

 

Unlike its sometimes gloriously florid predecessor, Neon Bible, this album is short on galloping, charged rock songs with dark visions and high emotion. It is, however, more varied.

They were so amazing last night! Power out/rebellion was incredible! It was also awesome they played sprawl ii and half life ii... I wasn't expecting those and they were great! I also got to meet up w/ briggins which was really cool! Since I'm using my iPod so I'll post a full review in a few days
