Fucked Up won the Polaris Music Prize for the best Canadian album (picked by respectable people, not just mainstream shit too) in 2009. I didn't agree with it necessarily, but they did put out a good album. The lead singer Pink Eye is quite the character, but he has a good heart and I respect him.

It's still pretty odd that Arcade Fire chose them. I guess Fucked Up are a little bigger in the 'indie' scene than I thought.
