Talk (leaked ages ago) vs Proper X&Y Talk

Featured Replies

i prefer the older one what do you guys think

the new version fits in more with the album as a whole i think, they've made it sound more erm sophisticated i s'pose

the first version was easier to sing a long to though!

I love how the new one lacks any repetition, something that makes the unreleased Talk sound more like a B-side. I'm happy with the finished product of this song, and it's nice that we have 2 versions of a great song anyhow.

Edge goes to: X & Y version.

I don't know, up until now I had preferred the old leaked one by far. But I woke up today and listened to the new version, and it is really beginning to grow on me.

Old one. I liked the texts and Chris' part better on the old one, on the new one the melody of his voice seems to be entirely depending on the riff from Kraftwerk. However, the music itself, the instrumental bit, is better, has a silver line to it in comparison to the old one.

I prefer the lyrics of the old one, but the new one has much better music. It will still take a little more time to get used to the new one though.

I prefer the new one. The old one was great, but I didn't like some of the lyrical parts. This new one fits much better in with the rest of the album... And the end is amazing, how it explodes into the guitar solo and the chorus from the old Talk.

I think the new Talk is a bit more creative. So the new Talk then

new for me too, BUT i liked how his voice would go falsetto during the chorus (during the old talk)

First I liked the old one more, but the new one is more X&Y, more 'outer space' :P It has grown on me.

It's probably the best song on the entire album :smug:

The new Talk is much much better. The music sounds much cleaner.

The old one is better..dont know why they changed it. Just have to get used to the new one by not playing the old one.

I like the old one better...it's lyric is better too...

i loved the older version, the lyrics were great i thought. the new version is growing on me, but i will definetely be listening to both versions as opposed to one or the other

Old version right now. After listening to the cd a few times i'll probably prefer the new one

The old one.. I really loved that one, and I've listened it too often so that I can't get used to the new version now

I like the new one's music, how it almost sounds like it ended but then comes back on, that's cool. But the lyrics for the old one, I love, and I can like interpret them, but the lyrics for the new one..not just yet. Right now it seems like words together....but that's only until I figure it out though
