Gwyneth Paltrow is staying with a U.S. billionaire as she takes a break from husband Chris Martin, it was claimed today.

 

According to a U.S. report, the Iron Man star spent the American Thanksgiving holiday with Jeff Soffer rather than the Coldplay frontman.

 

The 36-year-old actress raised eyebrows when she turned up at a party for the opening of Soffer's Fontainebleu Hotel in Miami two weeks ago. Martin, 31, ended his US tour with his band Coldplay on Wednesday.

 

He had been expected to return to London, where Paltrow was staying with the couple's two young children, Apple, four, and Moses, two.

 

Instead, according to the report, Paltrow headed for the States. Representatives for Paltrow and Soffer were unavailable for comment today.

Earlier this week, however, her spokesman, Stephen Huvane hit out at reports the couple's five-year marriage was over.

 

He said: '[it's] rubbish, stemming from the fact that she will not make any public appearances with her husband.'

 

'We're just friends,' Soffer told the Daily News earlier this week. 'Ms. Paltrow has a very sound marriage to Chris Martin.'

 

Paltrow and Soffer, 36, are said to have spent part of Thursday's Thanksgiving holiday with the actress's best pal, Madonna and her rumoured new love interest, Alex Rodriguez, who were both in the city.

 

The news comes amid reports that Paltrow is considering putting her £3.5 million Primrose Hill home on the market. She is thought to have become bored of London and is now thinking of moving back to America permanently.

 

Paltrow was recently paid a six-figure fee to be in a series of American Express ads.The mother of two is already the face of Estee Lauder and fashion house Tod’s.

 

Sources say she is also working on a series of fitness DVDs with her trainer Tracy Anderson.

I wouldn't pay it much heed, though, since the papers can't even do a basic image search to see that GP has been in London all week. :dozey:

It SAID that her rep said, "it's rubbish..." etc. And that report of her having Thanksgiving in the US wasn't even right. The more famous Chris gets and the more popular he is right now, as well as the more popular Gywnnie is (with Iron Man) the more people will say they're breaking up. Bad news is news in gossip. They can't sell magazines with "they're happy together but don't like being photographed." in our weird culture, you're either making out for the photogs or you're breaking up.

 

I hope they stay strong and keep their love strong and don't sell out. Neither of them reported to even listen to what people say about their relationship, so they probably don't care nearly as much as any of us do lol.

I seem to remember on this very site, if I am correct, reading a report and even seeing pictures, that Gwyneth spent Thanksgiving over here in London, with pals Reece Witherspoon and her boyfreind Jake Gyllenhall!!

 

Basically, the press and media in general are just dying to break up Chris and Gwyneth!!!!
