I don't think people like Gwyneth actually have to buy the dresses they wear to this kind of thing. Designers usually lend them stuff so they can be photographed on the red carpet etc wearing their label.

(I once had a similar dress for carnival when I was a child and that one surely didn't cost that much:laugh3:)
