would recommend the whole 'Love is Hell' too, both parts

so, you could say you're not on your own Mimixxx!

Indeed, that, Gold and Heartbreaker are amazing, his best stuff. But the 2005 stuff is well worth a listen too. I haven't heard Rock'n'roll yet, still working my way through but I love So Alive.

Glad I'm not talking to myself. :D

Ryan Adams is great!

I don't know his songs that well yet, but my first impressions are that he's awesome and a REAL artist.

Okay I disagree in that point that Ryan's Wonderwall is better than the original, because Oasis are unbeatable. But it's a good "worthy" version. And the other stuff... it's so profound and so not radio-playlist-like.

I know. I love the fact that he'll release 3 albums in one year. He gets criticised for doing so, critics say he should save up all the amazing songs and make one masterpiece. But that's not what he's about. He just likes making music.

I love him.

I was just wondering if anyone listens to or has even heard of Ryan Adams?? I truly think he is one of the best singer songwriters ever. If you havent heard of him before I would really reccomend you listening to these albums:

-Jacksonville City Nights

-Heartbreaker

-Cold Roses

The man is a country rock artist but the lyrics he puts into his music mean soo much. Adams put out 3 albums in 05, and is planning on putting out a couple more by the end of this year. So tell me what you think..

wrong section buddy ;) but yes, i have how do you keep love alive? and come pick me... i absoloutly love them!

Ya oh well bout the wrong section haha..

Yess I absolutely love Come Pick Me Up..right now JCN is my favorite album

Another bump :)

Can't wait for his next album :)

His version of Wonderwall is cool

Love is Hell is a great album. World war 24 and English Girls approximatly are my favs.

Ryan is T.H.E. best...I love JCN and all of his early stuff including 'come pick me up'...Cold Roses is simply an amazing album!!!

My thoughts exactly. Haven't heard any of his stuff in such a long time and now I see this thread and remember how much I miss him. For me, 'Love is hell' IS a masterpiece in itself, it's amazing the effect an album can have on you :)

I love Ryan Adams!!! what a brilliant artist.....great songwriter! 'When the stars go blue' is a beautiful song! At the moment Im playing 'come pick me up' a lot, fantasic song ....I would recommend everyone should go and listen to his music.

Ryan Adams goes hip-hop

The alt-country king tries his hand at rapping

Ryan Adams has gone in a surprising new musical direction - by trying his hand at rap.

The alt-country star has streamed a new track 'Look Who's Got A Website' on Ryan-Adams.com which features him rapping.

Sounding like a cross between Beck and Beastie Boys, Adams gives shout outs to New York, Kevin Costner and witches.

In the track, Adams raps about artists who attempt to replicate his sound:

"I could destroy galaxies of alternative country wannabees/With a bottle of whiskey."

He also raps about the critical maulings and low sales of his recent albums have got:

"Two and a half star... My record went bulsar wood... bascially he's alternative country but crappy."

Meanwhile Adams is set to play London's Shepherds Bush Empire on Saturday (September 30) - however, it's unclear whether or not he will be busting out the rhymes.

P.S. yo! interesting news lol

Bad move. It'll never work.

He should stick to what he's good at (whatever that is) - the same goes for Robbie!!;)

what the.. lol

Roll on November :)

Although the concert is being billed as The Cardinals Feat. Ryan Adams, it will be a good night

  • 2 months later...

Cardinology is a great album :)

They were fantastic tonight, shame about the bloody audience though (the shouting drunkens at the sides shouting stuff and requests to Ryan "I don't do requests, unless it's a Tuesday" Adams), the army of idiots at the front trying to record everything onto their phone, and just a sense of general "can't be arsed"
