hey guys go over to coldplay.com and read the new journal. you will see that the 4th coldplay album is done. and the wait for a single is on. it deeply goes into dept about the melodies and patterns that each man put into it. and it states that this is the album that everybody will remember them for, so the wait is on. The single is coming soon

We could be waiting another three months or, just as likely, have an ablum title and release date tomorrow. Who knows? But don't presume like that.

ah, i thought there was a single release timeframe in there, which was why i jumped out of my skin. nice update, but nothing concrete.

still, though, it sounds as though they're almost near being done, if they arent already, which is very nice. but right now almost the only thing i want to know are DATES for release of the single and then the album.

The person writing it is Phil Harvey, Coldplay's first manager and 'fifth member'. He left after Parachutes I believe to prusue a degree of some sort (I think), but now he's back and I think that is going to hugely positively effect the album.

 

I'm very excited.

Nice! Two significant entries in the last few weeks. Of course people always say that, "the next album will be their best ever." I'm very excited, but I try not to get my hopes up like that. It's better that way. Hopefully there will be more news soon about when to expect it to be released.

i agree, you got to go in with expectations not too high, beause then you will be dissapointed, but its hard not to get your hopes up. its so exciting!:D

It's kind of a presumption on my part, but there was an entry where Chris was talking about how their "fifth member" went away but that they "got him back".

 

And if you look at some of Prospeckt's past entries, he mentions his past with them (In one he talks about just starting out in a tiny rehersal room). There's more than that as well, so that leads me to believe that there's a 99% chance that it's Phil.

The guys will spend months tinkering with it trying to improve it. Their work is never done...

Yea im sure a song or 2 will arrive an then theyll think it should be on the album so they will start workin on it. They are perfectionist!!

I don't think it's Phil. He's not the type to take a fake name, he'd just sign his own name to the note. When he has appeared, as in the voice over on Bigger Stronger, he identifies himself. I think Prospekt is a production assistant or studio tech person.

True. Everytime I think of this new album I don't only get so excited but also worried about what it will be.

I really hope so too, though I don't think we will hear any new song at least til end of this year.

your absolutely right they could have just chosen their songs.....but it sounds to much like their done......with prospekt giving a profile on each band member. And what made me suspect they were done is when prospekt sed that jonny's guitars are "ALL OVER THIS ALBUM" so maybe its a joke maybe their months from really being done. it just sound like they really have finished.....i mean it has been a 2 year wait

They're kind of playing with us a bit - first "Prospekt" said in early September (the entry is gone now?) that we shouldn't expect too much of an album with that "expect concise, short record", now he's saying it's going to be their best ever.

I don't really mind, but I think the new album won't be released before the New Year. As someone from here put it, they're perfectionists, they'll do it all once again, maybe include a song, etc.

Anyway, it's better to wait for new Prospekt entries than to be here with no news at all..it's a great introspective way through that website I think

i think it's nearly finished too

the last post of prospekt said that they were having a hard time choosing songs for the album

maybe they finally made a desicion now

and it's not because it's done that it'll be on the stores tomorrow

it'll take another couple of months before they can make an actual copy
