I saw the Japanese Eraser Remixs album at HMV today. However I didn't feel like paying $18.99 for it.

I have really been listening to The Eraser recently. I would like Thom to do another solo album. For some reason, I have been listening to Harrowdown Hill a lot.

All of these remixes and reissues cost me a fortune, and I can't help but buy them. I am one of the worst collector geeks around.

HH is the best song on The Eraser and one of the best songs Thom's ever written. The lyrics are so scary when you find out what it is all about.

Yeah, I love the meaning behind the lyrics. So haunting.

Thom Yorke Hack Biography Coming Soon

Thom Yorke is one of the most important musicians in modern culture. His influence is vast. He deserves a legitimate, engrossing, authorized biography. Thom Yorke: Radiohead & Trading Solo is not that biography.

The author, [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Books/s/qid=1232565155/ref=sr_pg_1?ie=UTF8&rs=266239&rh=n%3A266239%2Cp_27%3ATrevor%20Baker&page=1]Trevor Baker[/ame], has penned such straight-to-used-bin page-rippers as Steve Irwin: The Incredible Life of the Crocodile Hunter, the Kylie Minogue bio Kylie Fever, and the official companion tome to the 2003 UK reality show "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!"

Not to be outdone, the book's publisher, Independent Music Press, is responsible for Moby: Replay - His Life and Times, System of a Down: Right Here in Hollywood and not one but two separate softcovers on the Prodigy. Pedigree, people, pedigree.

So get ready for 208 pages of second-hand interviews, "meaningful" chats with grade school mates and sentences like, "Yorke's eye might be lazy, but the same cannot be said of the man." (Note: That's not an actual sentence from the book, I just made it up. Which makes me think-- why didn't I just down a couple ginger ale 'n' speed 'n' Red Bull combos and crank this thing out myself? I read that Bends-era Mojo interview! Then I could make fun of my own book on Pitchfork, a win-win! Alas.)

If you must know, Thom Yorke: Radiohead & Trading Solo will hit England's finest supermarket magazine aisles February 26.

Nothing beats a low budget crappy unauthorized bio.

I was sure that it was going to be some EMI executive or CEO writing it.

yuck, the biography is going to stink. I'd love an autobiography. But that's never going to happen.

Don't think I'll buy it.

It does sound interesting but since it's unauthorised ... doubt Thom would ever do such a thing.

You could create your own autobiography!

Or hire me to write one.

Ah, then it wouldn't be an autobiography would it?

:rolleyes2:

nope. Itd be a biography.

Oh really. Would it be.

Me too! Though for me, I start with Atoms for Peace, And It Rained All Night and let it go into Harrowdown Hill... what a GREAT combination of songs right there. They come from such different sides of the brain and yet they flow so well together. I always skip to the live version of Cymbal Rush though... ever since I heard that one, I'm spoiled to it. It's just a lot more haunting and delicate on the piano....

The only decent Radiohead biography I ever read was [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Radiohead-Great-Height-Jonathan-Hale/dp/1550223739]From A Freat Height[/ame].

The rest is pretty hysterial & useless.

i think that trevor or what is his name, was really a wrong person to write about thom...i'm getting ready for disappointment :(

Yeah, I won't be checking it out.

  • 1 month later...

Seconded. Although I'd prefer an 8th Radiohead album over a solo release, I'd also love to hear another solo album. The Eraser is a perfect album.
