I'm a Christian too....You're just making us look bad.

How do you become a Christian?

Well yes, there is a huge bias against christians but there are a large amount that try to force their views on everyone. My dad was a preacher and it only makes things worse when religion is forced on people. From what I've seen, you need to be very subtle with telling people about Jesus, not the way this guy is doing it because it just makes more people hate Christianity.

My mom forced it down my throat my whole life, so I know exactly what you mean. It's only very recently that I'm more open-minded towards Christianity again.

Pass me a beer, Ian!

How do you become a Christian?

I don't know im just a poor sinner, who can't be saved unless you help me...:dozey:

You're whats wrong with the church.

Pass me a beer, Ian!

The church would say alcohol is the drink of the DEVIL!

I say here, have a CRATE!

Don't call yourself a Christian if you don't even know how to become one. It's not about me, it's about Jesus Christ. You need to repent of your sins and turn to Him for salvation. If you are really a Christian, then you shouldn't be offended by me telling people how to become one.

Hey, I'm a christian, and I once went a span of about a year avidly posting on a messageboard devoted to religion and politics, trying to peacefully rationalize with bible thumpers like yourself who only ever succeed in making yourself and all other christians look like ignorant fools.

Look, not everybody believes in God, and not everybody believes in your God, okay? Just because you believe something doesn't mean you need to chase everyone around trying to make them believe the same thing you do. Believe me, you're not going to find anybody on any of these messageboard who wants to become a Christian, but just plain can't find anybody who'll explain to them exactly how one does that. All you've ever done in the who-knows-how-many threads you've posted like this, is tell people that you are intolerant of anyone whose beliefs differ from your own.

As someone who believes in freedom of religion, I kindly ask you to stop posts like these, if you honestly want somebody to become a Christian, the best way is to stop trying to make people into Christians!

P.S. If the people you're preaching to don't believe in heaven or hell, I doubt they're gonna be concerned about going to either of them.

OK, so instead of being happy to meet a fellow Christian, Mr. Baggins and Mr. Cool are arguing about the 'right way'...actually, nick's not arguing. This is WHY a lot of ppl are SO biased against Christians! Why not be happy for your common beliefs and go from there. But from the Asscention on, the Church has been devided, and has shared its division with the world. Like I said before. Jesus grew up in 33 years...why is it that after 2,000 years the Church still hasn't?

And what does the Bible say about being judgmental.......

Time to move along frodo. Maybe talk about coldplay or something else before you try to force your views on people and set yourself up as an ignorant prick.

Hey, Frodo:

A very wise elder at my church likes to say something along the lines of:

Evangelism is like a dance. When two people are dancing, they need to both willingly move together. There has to be give and take involved, or you both trip over each other. When you try to force someone to dance, it's not called dancing, (and it sure doesn't look like dancing either) it's called assault.

You see, there needs to be a bit of art involved.

Now I don't go for the Calvinist predestination sort of view at all, but still a person isn't going to want to dance unless God has already been working in their heart, making them open to listening and to working with you. Equally, shouting in the virtual marketplace is never going to do much no matter how true what you're saying is, unless you yourself are working with the Holy Spirit to guide you and to give you the right words to say. Not even the greatest apostles could speak until after Pentecost.

Now the Bible says something about not hindering even unbelievers who preach the real true gospel, because the word is still getting out, and because of that I'm not going to join the "lock this thread" brigade. But I still have to say, the way this thread was started makes me feel a bit slimy- I don't like seeing the things that mean so much to me presented in an all-caps n00b spam-post no different than the ones spammers use to try to sell cameras and junk in here. It's degrading.

You'll remember in Acts 17 even Paul when he was in Athens investigated the local culture and adapted to it before he started preaching- he even incorporated one of the local gods into his sermon. And it worked.

So could I respectfully suggest that if you're going to continue to hang around here that you at least try to get to know us a little rather than just arguing all the time? Relax. Pull up a chair. Even if the world does end tomorrow, it's all in God's hands.

Do you like Coldplay? What's your favorite music? Why not talk about the weather? Or share a laugh?

I think you would find that people would be a lot more willing to have a conversation with you if they had an idea of who you were and what you were like rather than just a n00b spammer.

I just love reading Religious threads. They look even more attractive to an athiest like me ;)

Anybody see that programme about Child Preachers on Channel 4 not too long ago? That was scary, in a strange way.

And what does the Bible say about being judgmental.......

I'll bet money he has never heard of Coldplay,i think he doesn't even know that this is a coldplay board, and not a religious forum.

So I don't know how to become one if i don't agree with you? Really opened minded there buddy.

I'm offended by how you are making us Christians look bad, bringing down the church because of you're ignorance. Go read the bible and stop making people hate Christians. You have no right to say if someone is a christian or not, based off them not answering your question you hypocrite.

hypocrisy and ignorance like your's are the reason the church has so many problems. You clearly have little understand of the bible and how to tell people about Jesus, you just push them away and make them resent God.

You sound more fake then Benny Hin.

I'm happy to meet fellow Christians, but when they are fake and just make us look bad I'm not happy to meet them. I've spent my life around people like this guy, who think they can force their beliefs on us, and constantly shove them down our throats while they act holier then thou. I struggle as a christain but I understand from almost 20 years in a church, a few years leading church groups and preaching in church that what this kid is doing is hurting my God. People like him if they had the chance would spread the Gospel with a sword, like hypocrites did for thousands of years in the name of my religion.

I get crap all the time from non christians because they think every christian is like this kid. Its annoying to say the least.

If he were a Christian, then he shouldn't be offended by the gospel of Jesus Christ is my point. I'm not judging him, I am going by what he said.
