Xfm...Radio show competition for London? Obvious idea but could be it......which will suck....cos I never win anything like that.

hmmmmm..... who knows. All I know is, Brixton Academy. I wanna BE THERE. :stunned:

Hmm Coldplay.com says "Get tickets" and not "Win tickets" as earlier read.... Hope hope the will be for sale only through coldplay.com

How big audience can Brixton take?

according to their last blog on their MySpace:

Free gigs in London and New York

Also tomorrow, Coldplay.com will announce preliminary details of two free shows which the band will play in June, one at London's Brixton Academy and the other at New York's Madison Square Garden. Full details of how to win tickets to both will be revealed on Coldplay.com in the next few weeks.

as i said, it'll be through their site...

I really want to know because I need to book my airplane ticets to London. Oooh, give me one ticet! :(

i want to go to the garden so bad! i will kill someone to get their tix!

^^I'm ready to join forces and kill as well....I MUST BE AT MSG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sneaky:

I'm entirely down for a Coldplaying raid of MSG. :D

How many does MSG hold? Quite a fee people I would think...and these tickets are only available on their website?? A whole venue full of true fans! AHHHHHHHH!

i REALLY want to be at MSG, but i don't know if it's going to work in my schedule at all or if i'll be able to get tickets. i really don't think we'll have to "win" tickets for MSG at least...i think it'll just be first-come, first-serve as always, but just more cutthroat, quick, and intense for this concert because it's free and everyone and their brother will be trying for them. i can't say i'm personally very hopeful about getting the tickets for this particular show, but if i'm insanely lucky and do get seats...ohmygod. if not, well, i'm seeing them on the today show that thursday, and i'm willing to pay to see them when they come around (assuming i'm in the country at the time...i'm kind of worried that i won't be :\)

at times like this, i really, REALLY wish coldplay had a pay-to-join fanclub which gave out tickets to members. pearl jam does this and always has presales for their shows for the fee-paying members only, and it works beautifully. you know that for such free shows as these ones, every random joe that only half likes coldplay will be vying for tickets just because it's free, and i bet these sorts of people will get the majority of the tickets rather than the legit fans like us. blergh.

in my wild fantasy, coldplay will announce on the site something to the effect of:

"members of coldplaying.com that have been members since (some precise date sometime in like, 2007) and have post-counts higher than 1,200 as of april 30, 2008 will be eligible for the first available tickets while supplies last. after this "presale" period has ended, tickets will be available to the general public."

:P

oh how i wish...

I must be there

ok.. it's just at the other side of the world :bigcry:

my wild fantasy is like yours but has more stuff too!

"and also the mods of that wonderful site will get a free trip to london or NY to see the concert" :wacky:

^MUST. BECOME. MOD.

:P

seriously, though, can you just imagine how great a concert of all of us coldplayers would be? it would be like this huge party reunion sort of thing, because i feel like we all know each other. it would be amazing, but it's never going to happen . that's probably the only disadvantage of everyone being so international.

yeahhhh that'd be a perfect day.. meeting all the interesting people from here and having a great concert :bigcry:

There are some 30,000 odd members of coldplyaing.com, most of who have never posted. I wonder how many does MSG hold and how many active US fans does Coldplaying have :-P

MSG seats about 20,000 for a concert. that's why in my little fantasy thing, i specified what members here would be eligible for tickets, because there are more members here than there are seats available! thats a strange thought...

I think there will be some luck-of-the draw raffle or something to determine who gets tickets. It would be really cool if they had a super long Coldplay quiz, and the top scorers won tickets. So like the top 100 would get first row, and so on. I would own that.

i'll do there for MSG concert any way!

its my race with others to make up to that concert!

I hope it's not like that Abbey Road thing they did where the majority of the people there were celebs and only a select few fans got to go!

i don't know, i just have a feeling that it's going to be just like buying tickets for any concert except that you don't put in a credit-card number at the end. i think it would be odd to have a raffle with 20,000 winners, really. if it was like 100, then fine, but 20,000? that's a lot. might as well leave it to the masses to fight it out, that's what i think they'll do.

X Factor style auditions, the judges being C, J, G, W.

i am making an enquiry for the tickets and i am keeping my eye always on that madison square garden site to check in for all details and phone calls to them and will pay as much amount as i can to do for the show!

yea i'll do anything to get tickets to the MSG show. i hope it's just first come first serve because i think most of us here would still be able to get them that way...

Do you think people will be able to sell these tix on stubhub or something?
