How was his vocie damaged then?

I have to agree: his voice isn't always perfect, but that never really bothered me. Most of the time it sounds awesome though.

wow

That was a truly a great performance by them. I was expecting them to play Violet Hill since it as their single, but either way a truly remarkable show. I really liked Will, Guy, Johnny doing the background vocals the last time the chorus played. Can't wait until to see them live in America!

Polyps I think, I'm not sure if that was ever made official but it was the accepted reason. He did a show in America and lost his voice half way through, they had a fan come and sing Yellow but after that he had to go off, they cancelled a ton of live shows after that. He wasn't allowed to speak for a long long time, only allowed to communicate by writing on paper.

Following that he hired a music teacher, Mary (who he still uses now) to try and get his voice back to what it was, but he's struggled with it a little ever since.

That being said I've seen far, far more live performances where his voice has sounded awesome, than I have where he's struggled. Unfortunately it always seems to happen at the really high profile events :dozey:

I never knew he has ever had such problems with his voice (although I've read somewhere the story about a fan singing Yellow because Chris lost his voice - I though it was just that evening), but he managed fine I think :)

Hehe. I remember because the other guys used to wind him on purpose and argue with him and he'd be furiously trying to argue back by writing on bits of paper :P

I thought Chris Rock-ed.

aww, never heard about that before ! they're naughty !

thanks for the anecdote !

:D

Chris and Jason Bateman! I love Jason Bateman, he's hilarious. Can't find them any bigger though :(

Aww, that's awesome mich, :nice:

He is hillarious in arrested development and the Ex with Zach Braff, and Scrubs, and the Starsky and Hutch Movie :D

Which episode of Scrubs was he in? :stunned:

He's the patient who never says thanks to JD.

so JD and turk go to his house and he has ostraches in his garden which throw JD and turk through his window. and he says he never said thanks because he's a trash man and how many people say thanks to him for doing his job?

do you remember?

and because him and turk are visiting him, some other patient dies at the hands of the interns and then there's a big moral at the end.

which is apparently, that there are no other qualified doctors in the hospital, just JD, Elliott and interns. of course :laugh3:

The show finally aired here in Australia, ok, well some 6 hours ago lol, but anyway, I was really looking forward to the performance, and obviously, it was clear to see Chris' voice wasn't its best, but he certainly did the best with it's condition. It definitely wasn't usual, like as a fan, watching many of his live performances, it's easy to point-out if something isn't quite right.

Either way, I loved the performance, I thought the crowd was a little stiff lol, but eh, it's the first time many of them have heard Viva La Vida so little do they know it will become HUGE! Right now they may not regard that as a good performance, or one that didn't reach their expectations of this world-famous band, but they will look back once they've heard more of this album and realise how lucky they were to have seen that performance :).

Great work guys! (Btw, when Jonny and Will started backup, I got goosebumps! It's terrific!) :D
