Featured Replies

it was cool. chris sounded a bit nervous, but still... as somebody said before, they always improve during the tour and stuff, so everything should be good. nice performance! :)

I was just going to post that with that new setup we got some nice ass shots of Will and Chris...asstacular!!!:D

i thought the performance was fantastic! whatever awkwardness or nervousness they had made them more endearing to me

and yes, Will was the BEST and his bum looked really cute!!! ;)

AAAHHHHH!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW AMAZING COLDPLAY IS!!!! EVERYTIME!!! I LOVE THEMMMM!!!!! *goes crazy*

Poll from Yahoo.com

PRIMETIME ASKS!

Who gave the best performance on the "MTV Movie Awards"?

Chris Brown20%

Coldplay27%

The Pussycat Dolls14%

Adam Sandler39%

Adam Sandler won for best performance...at least Coldplay beat the Pussycat Dolls but it's still sad that 14% of people thought that performance was actually good.

That was the 14% of guys who were seriously turned on by the dancing.:P

stayed up late to watch the show although iwas about to jump out of the window when paris said she liked coldplay. hahahah. :laugh3:

their performance was very nice.

i guess chris was rather nervous. you could tell by his voice, which wasn't very strong.

still, i loved the performance and it made me look forward to see them live this autumn!

I wonder why they didn't play violet hill. It really was not Chris's best performance :\

I'm surprised you even noticed Chris when they kept showing Will's ass. :laugh3:

^ OMG!

i thought i was the only sick perv who noticed that!

they also had great shots of chris' bum though.

when is coldplay gonna give up the backing tracks?

maybe when/if that day every comes ill go see them

sorry for all you coldplay lovers but their live show is just mediocre. more glamour than music

fake song fake performance that's viva la vida, only song that is very big mistake, rest sounds good

bullshit! coldplay sound awesome live. they suck in tv awards its something they have to quit. and wtf NIN use the same clase of computers to make sounds so dont talk bullshit please.

brill song, dont know what the fuck your on about!!!

I thought it's cute how Chris was soooooo nervous. It shows how they all REALLY care about this album, more so than X&Y, if that's possible. But it's their first performance of it, so it's okay. :nice:

If your going to perform a great song, and it is one of their best, then at least make it as good as the recorded version.

All the time they have taken to make this album and they couldn't even do one track live without backing tapes.

They would have been better off not performing this song at all until they could do it fully live, and do it justice, because all they have done is lost credibility with last night's performance.

Polyps I think, I'm not sure if that was ever made official but it was the accepted reason. He did a show in America and lost his voice half way through, they had a fan come and sing Yellow but after that he had to go off, they cancelled a ton of live shows after that. He wasn't allowed to speak for a long long time, only allowed to communicate by writing on paper.

Following that he hired a music teacher, Mary (who he still uses now) to try and get his voice back to what it was, but he's struggled with it a little ever since.

That being said I've seen far, far more live performances where his voice has sounded awesome, than I have where he's struggled. Unfortunately it always seems to happen at the really high profile events :dozey:

Wow I didn't know that at all! :( I love his voice though!

i thought the performance was bloody brilliant

Chris' voice wasn't at it's best but I reckon he might just be unfamiliar with the song. The "woooaahhhhhhhh"s at the end were so cute though, how sweet is it to see them all harmonising!

Adam Sandler? I though that was an actor!

NIN probably has a man on stage manning the laptop and controlling the sounds/noises it make most likely by using some form of a midi controller. coldplay probably have a guy offstage queuing the backing track at the start of the song and their musicianship suffers severely from it. a poor performance, and i've seen it live before and that is as equally mediocre.

maybe they were nervous cos they weren't that good all im saying they've done better but they did start hitting the right notes by the end. it was still great :dozey:

pretty sure that performance was maybe 75% pre-recorded. the strings, all the ambient sounds and backing vocals (in parts, especially the end) for sure, there was maybe a bit more of the church bell in this version but i'm convinced jonny was doing nothing on the keyboard and playing a little bit of guitar. will's fake backing vocals were pretty cringeworthy too...

Adam Sandler? I though that was an actor!

he is but he sang a song that he wrote about himself lol.

even had a guitar solo.

Just seen the performance and I really don't get the criticism. I thought it was great, considering it was to a bunch of people who've never heard the track before, and the segment was produced by MTV.

I'm sure the "magic balls" will be much more interesting than the confetti MTV tried to drown them in, but what you have to remember is it was an MTV production. Coldplay will have had little say in the "look" and will have been limited to what they could do with live instruments.

And they were much better off doing Viva La Vida - I love Violet Hill as much as the next person, but it's really not a "party" song that would fit in at a glitzy Hollywood awards bash.

The boys done good!!!
