I'm listening to "Calgary" for the first time.

 

The beginning. I can't even. :bomb: :heart:

 

I like it a lot. I think it'd be a helluva lot better, though, if it weren't for that latter section. (2:28-3:24) There's something in there (Is it electric guitar or harsh synths?) that doesn't sound right and should be removed.

I've been really obsessed with "Blood Bank" lately. What a beautiful song.

the leak is completely legit.

 

this album might take some getting used to. particularly some of the vocal work.

disappointed at the lack of reaction. so i'll just talk to myself.

 

a lot of the emotion that defined For Emma seems to have been replaced with a heavier focus on experimentation. it is clearly much more of a full band effort than the debut so it doesn't feel as personal but it does give a fuller sound. the closing track Beth/Rest is probably one of the best songs i have heard this year. a cracking end to the album.
