Search For Food Leads To Lunch With Coldplay’s Chris Martin

chris_martin_coldplay.jpg

Because of the still-smoldering fires on the Universal Studios lot, most — and by most, I mean all — of the restaurants surrounding the Gibson Amphitheatre are closed. Well, closed except for the 30 minutes when they were all open, which is when I managed to score some sushi, which is also when Chris Martin enters into this.

See, while I was crushing some California rolls, the restaurant decided to shut off food service again. Minutes later, I see a rather tall fellow in aviator shades waving frantically at me from across the promenade. (That sentence reads particularly Victorian for whatever reason.) Startled, I realize it’s none other than Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, whom I chatted with yesterday during rehearsals.

Turns out, he was starving, and was having no luck finding an open restaurant. Dazed, he saw me and wandered over.

“Can I please have some of your beans?” he pleaded, pointing at my edamame (the photo above captures him mid-plea).

Of course, I gave him some, while my lunch buddies — not to mention a gathering throng of gawkers — looked on in awe.

Sated, he thanked me and wandered back into the backstage area. And I wrote this blog entry about how I had a sushi lunch with Chris Martin.

aww ! thanks for that Mich ! he looks good !!!

poor man was starving..

its wierd seeing him without the colourful armbands now

Haha, poor blogger was out some beans though :P

Wait, I just saw this for the first time...

Under the watchful gaze of PCD mastermind Robin Antin and her army of choreographers (not to mention a giant tub of Golden Popcorn located at stage right), the Dolls ascended platforms, descended stairs and ducked walls of flame, all while a massive screen behind them popped with images of flashbulbs, tabloid headlines and diamonds. This went on for nearly two hours, and it didn't always go smoothly. Doll Jessica Sutta (she's the brunette one) was battling a series of blisters so severe that she limped offstage and had a series of padding added to the inside of her heels. Ever the trooper, she managed to gut it out, and by the end of their rehearsals, PCD — plus a group of special guests who we're not allowed to mention just yet — had a fierce and fiery performance locked down.

Uhhhh...please don't be Coldplay.......

Hey I'm super cool  Is just I can think of hotter girls than PCD for them to prance around with :P

Ah. I see. Touche. In that case, please don't let me stop you joining Chris onstage so!!

You ARE talking bout yourself right? :P

EDIT:

And I believe the most important thing to take away from those photos is that the guys aren't wearing the costumes in public. Thank God!

i think that the person who will duet pcd is gonna be britney spears, just a thought.

This is great!!!!! Chris wearing aviators. Absolutely gorgeous
