No I didn't. The only thing I might have said was that Man U had been terrible by their own extremely high standards, which they were at the start of the season.

Man U deserve respect for what they've achieved over the years.:smug:

I remember you being quite insulting to Man Utd in the past, and I actually remember you slating Inter to me, a treble winning team with 100 years in Serie A and alot more trophies in the cupboard than Charlton, hardly a shit team are they?, I've got no problem with people not liking a particular Club, I don't like Chelsea but I woudn't say they were shit, because it's an obvious untruth, you're meant to support your team even when thier not doing well, like Reiley did with Newcastle.

Taking the p*ss isn't "slating". It's just a bit of fun. It happens with fans of different teams all the time.

Liverpool and Everton, Spurs and Arsenal, Newcastle and Sunderland. It's all part of the fun. If anyone takes any of it too seriously, that's their problem.:dozey:

I think you're taking it all way too seriously. Football is just a "game" at the end of the day.:dozey:

I agree, and I do. Doesn't mean to say I'm going to praise them up all the time when they don't deserve it, though. I'll leave that to the Spurs fans, who seem to be very adept at that.

I've never denied anything

Nobody said you did, I showed how you decided to avoid admitting to supporting Charlton when directly asked "What club do you support?" because you are ashamed. I then included what I knew you were going to say:

I had at least given him the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't mention them any more because it's not quite as relevant as the teams in the big leagues we usually discuss, but he was directly asked and didn't want to answer.

You then went on to use that exact excuse:

It just so happens that the matches they're playing in at the moment are pretty much irrelevant as far as the bigger picture is concerned.:

This wasn't the issue, I said that, I understand why you don't talk about them as much but it doesn't make sense that now they aren't in the Premier League you don't talk about them at all.

The point I made (Which you conveniently chose to miss) is that when directly asked about what team you support, you ignored the question because you are embarrassed to support a lower league club. You have stopped talking about them at all since they went down, and can barely even admit to support the team you are supposedly proud of.

It's got nothing to do with relevance of Charlton to all of us, I'll drill it home again: you were asked who you support and didn't want to answer (Yes I thought I'd make the point for about the 5th time because otherwise you'd miss it) and it just coincides with how you never mention them.

You are embarrassed of your club and wouldn't even admit to supporting them unless pinned down for answers.

Erm people - football if you haven't realised is quite tribal therefore it's actually common for people regardlessof what team you support to sling taunts at clubs. As long as people don't throw abuse in the direction of ghastly incidents like Munich or Hillsborough then it's easy to swipe them away and ignore them.

Anyhow those cancellations today are a right shitter!

Yes it is just a game, my point is rather than having a bit of banter you've actually called more than one Club that plays Champions League football shit, which is an obvious untruth if they were shit they wouldn't be there, and what's with the constant sindey comments at Spurs and thier fans?, if you don't like the Club and don't want them to do well why don't you just just come out and say so?.

There hasn't been anything worth saying about them for a long time, so why bother?

Angie doesn't exactly say much about Southampton nowadays, either.:dozey:

Firstly, you are jumping to (incorrect) conclusions as you always do.

Secondly, whether or not I choose to answer questions or not is totally up to me. You don't make the rules.:smug:

I have always supported Charlton and always will. Their league position doesn't make any difference to me whatsoever.

I'd be interested to see how many of the "glory, glory" Spurs fans would stay loyal if their team was in the same position.

Excellent point, as usual.

I very much doubt I have. As I said before, I might have said they had played terribly by their standards, which was almost certainly fair comment.

I don't like them, and if I want to take the p*ss out of them, that's my prerogative.:smug:

I fucking told you TWICE now- I understand that! I originally brought up that it's a fair point that there's less to talk about, then you used it as an excuse, then I responded to you saying I had already brought that up as a fair excuse, and now I'm doing it again. The point I had to extend this is that you never bring them up AT ALL now, ever, it's almost like you're embarrassed. The fact that you also didn't want to even tell us who you support proves it.

Secondly, whether or not I choose to answer questions or not is totally up to me. You don't make the rules.:smug:

WTF?! Yes it is indeed your decision to answer the question, but if you don't want people to know who you support then you are not a proud supporter and you are ashamed of your club. That's the whole point. I'm not making those rules, that's just the way it is.

I didn't jump to conclusions, I initially thought it was strange that you post so much in this thread about football yet never mention Charlton at all or use any sort of example situation regarding your team. This made me suspicious as to why you never used to shut up about them and now you would never mention them, but as I said I just figured there's not much relevance so it's fair enough, but still strange that you NEVER mention them. Then someone asks you who you support and you don't want to tell them, confirms my suspicion, you are not a proud supporter.

It doesn't prove anything at all, and as I have already pointed out, you're wrong.:smug:

You didn't point out anything before, all you said was that you have the right to not tell people if you support Charlton or not, and of course you have that right (That wasn't even the issue), but if you choose not to then clearly you are not proud of other people knowing you are a Charlton Athletic supporter, which I find really pathetic as back when they were a Premier League team you wouldn't shutup about them. Where's the loyalty?

Yes you've already said that, but didn't give any reason for it.

There's no point in going around in circles, to me someone who literally never mentions their football club and choose not to mention them even when asked who they support, is ashamed, not a proud supporter, and I'd go as far to say this is so obviously true it can't be debated.

The only one going round in circles is you (as usual). You might think you know people better than they do themselves, but the simple fact of the matter is, you don't.:smug:
