I had at least given him the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't mention them any more because it's not quite as relevant as the teams in the big leagues we usually discuss, but he was directly asked and didn't want to answer. Makes you a bit sad that football fans can be as pathetic as that. When Newcastle were relegated last year from start to finish I would always display my support for my team, doesn't matter if they are in the Championship or some day end up in the Conference, I'll always be proud. But not admitting to supporting your own club-that's loyalty for you, as always a great display of a lack of morality.

The only thing I might have said was that Man U had been terrible by their own extremely high standards, which they were at the start of the season. It just so happens that the matches they're playing in at the moment are pretty much irrelevant as far as the bigger picture is concerned. I still go to see them play whenever the opportunity arises. The last time was when they played Luton at home in the F.A. Cup. They'll probably be thrashed by Spurs in the third round too, but there'll be no shame in that, as everyone will be expecting it to happen. I'm amazed you even have time for football at the moment with all those cousins to buy Christmas presents for, by the way.:rolleyes:
