deaths_friend
Great game. Valencia played really well and if Arsenal is smart, they'll take that style of play to Camp Nou. Barca had more scoring chances though. Messi had 3-4 clear opportunities in the first half alone. yeah i was thinking during the game "hope wenger is watching this"
Guest howyousawtheworld
yeah i was thinking during the game "hope wenger is watching this" It's a real interesting one for Arsenal. They simply cannot sit back and hold out for a 0-0 draw in the sort of way Rafa Benitez set up his Liverpool side in the 2005 Champions League Quarter Final at Juventus. They just don't have the players to be capable of doing such a thing. I don't know if anyone remembers that game but after taking a 2-1 lead (Luis Garcia's goal at Anfield below! :D ) to the Stadio Delle Alpi, Benitez tactically nullified any threat Capello's Juventus side posed in a textbook 0-0 hold of a game. Liverpool had real stalwarts when it mattered back then. Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher unbeatable when fully committed and Igor Biscan (remember him?!) was an incredible holding midfielder during that match breaking up everything that threatened to go past him. I've always seen that 0-0 draw as the blueprint as to how to defend a 2-1 lead away. Arsenal are a better side than Liverpool in 2005 obviously, but Barca are a better side than Juve were in 2005 although that Juventus side were still world class it had to be said. But I just feel Arsenal do not have the defensive nous that is needed to coax out a 0-0 draw away so they'll have to score. Oh and here's that goal! Jose did it to Barca at Nou Camp last year too, while they are pretty special they are beatable, I like both teams so I'm not too bothered about the result, I really want Arsenal to win the league this season though. Josh42
Arsenal needs to come out with an aggressive style of play. They need to disrupt Barca's passing system (like Valencia did fairly well) if they want to have any shot at winning the aggregate.
busybeeburns
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure fails drugs test Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has been suspended after testing positive for a specified substance. The 29-year-old was informed by the Football Association after being tested at the Manchester derby last month where he was an unused substitute. The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) defines a specified substance as one that is "more susceptible to a credible, non-doping explanation". The punishment for this offence ranges from a warning to a two-year ban. Hamilton Academicals midfielder Simon Mensing recently served a four-week ban after a specified substance was detected in his system. However, former Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny served a nine-month suspension after testing positive for the stimulant ephedrine. It took two months for the case to be heard and the player's defence of the drug being present in cough medicine was dismissed. After Toure's A sample returned positive, City confirmed in a statement that Toure had been suspended "pending the outcome of the legal process". Ivory Coast international Toure, whose brother Yaya also plays for City, is a former club captain who joined City from Arsenal in July 2009. The defender has gone on to make more than 50 appearances for City, although he was not involved in Wednesday's FA Cup victory over Aston Villa. The failed test automatically triggered the suspension and it is understood that Toure was left out of the squad because the club had been made aware of the situation. The City statement added: "There will be no further comment from the football club at this stage." And on Thursday evening a FA statement read: "The FA can confirm that a player has been provisionally suspended from playing pending investigation, having tested positive for the use of a prohibited substance." Mensing, 28, tested positive for the stimulant methylhexaneamine at the end of January and subsequently missed five matches after a period of ineligibility was imposed on him. The player maintained he was unaware he had ingested the substance while using a dietary supplement - an explanation which was accepted by UK Anti-Doping. In Kenny's instance, Christopher Quinlan - the chairman of the Regulatory Commission which heard the case - said that a professional sportsman "has a strict responsibility to ensure prohibited substances do not enter his or her body". Toure was the skipper of City until the start of the current campaign, when the armband was passed to Carlos Tevez. The Ivorian defender was brought to the Premier League by Arsenal in 2002 and he remained with the London club until his £14m transfer to City. Toure, who is under contract with City until the summer of 2013, was one of several high-profile arrivals in the summer of 2009 as then-manager Mark Hughes spent more than £100m on new players. City are currently pursuing trophies on three fronts. They will play Reading in the quarter-final of the FA Cup, are set to take on Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League and lie third in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Manchester United. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/9413738.stm

Allow me to disagree with you. It's not like they'll get angry at their team a week after their first trophy in almost 50 years. They're still celebrating, and they should.
