Kenny Dalglish returns from abroad on Monday so I wouldn't be surprised if he is installed as caretaker which would see his first match in charge ironically against Everton, which was his last game in charge of Liverpool back in 1991. Imagine the scene. Anfield. Sunday afternoon the stadium a complete sell out (unlike of late which is far from great) and the atmosphere absolutely electric. Yes - that would spur Liverpool on!

January 8, 201115 yr Premier League - Hodgson out, Dalglish in at Liverpool Premier League - Hodgson out, Dalglish in at Liverpool Roy Hodgson has left his post as Liverpool manager with club legend Kenny Dalglish put in charge until the end of the season. The announcement was made by the club with Liverpool currently sitting 12th in the Premier League table having suffered 12 defeats already this campaign. Dalglish will take the reins at Anfield until the end of the season, and his first game in charge sees the Reds travel to Old Trafford to take on rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup on Saturday. Principal Owner John Henry commented: "We are grateful for Roy's efforts over the past six months, but both parties thought it in the best interests of the club that he stand down from his position as team manager. We wish him all the best for the future." Roy Hodgson said: "Being asked to manage Liverpool Football Club was a great privilege. Any manager would be honoured to manage a club with such an incredible history, such embedded tradition and such an amazing set of fans. "Liverpool is one of the great clubs in world football. I have, however, found the last few months some of the most challenging of my career. I am very sad not to have been able to put my stamp on the squad, to be given the time to bring new players into the club in this transfer window and to have been able to be part of the rebuilding process at Liverpool," he added. I don't expect much from tomorrow on the pitch (he's only just landed in the UK from Dubai and is on his way to Manchester) but I'm sure he'll give us a stable 6 months much like Keegan offered when he salvaged something from the car wreck left by Allardyce at Newcastle 3 years back. It took a few weeks but Keegan got the ball rolling again until he resigned...again.
January 8, 201115 yr It's not as if it was even a shock or lucky 1-0 win, the Newcastle team was a strong one and they shipped 3 goals to a team 15th in League Two. Bostwicks goal was a beaut. So was Bartons.
January 9, 201115 yr Howard Webb Fergie arse licking ****, playing the 12th man role for Man Utd expertly again. Still 1-0. Hard to take but not to bad considering all that went against us. It was a pleasure to see the commitment from the players again. Continue in that vain and Kenny can take the job permanently in May which would be a DElight! :D Back to cleaning up the mess that is the Premier League now for Liverpool. Blackpool away - tough but I actually believe again. And next week - Kenny's homecoming at Anfield against Everton! Should be incredible!!
