What a terrible game! Great chance for both of us to pull back the teams above us and neither of them seemed bothered. Real let down.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet still in 5th.

Ferdinand has been useless ever since he crawled out of his mother. United fans have been acting like he is the incarnation of Jesus for the last decade and I'm looking forward to them realising he isn't that great.

He should have stuck to doing that weird Punk'd rip off show he did.

Liverpool's Anfield cat becomes Twitter star

A cat which ran on to the pitch during Liverpool's Premier League home game against Tottenham Hotspur has attracted 30,000 followers on the internet. The grey and white tabby wandered across the turf before being scooped up by a steward. Within minutes the cat was an internet sensation with at least three spoof Twitter accounts claiming to be the Premier League's new star. The cat's owner is yet to be identified but staff at Anfield know it as Sam.

Twitter accounts @AnfieldCat claims to be the "official twitter of me, the Anfield Cat" has more than 25,000 followers while @liverpoolfccat claims they are the "first, the original Kop Cat", has more than 4,000 fans and @CatAnfield has almost 3,000 followers.

The feline walked on to the pitch 11 minutes into the game. Liverpool FC said it bore an uncanny resemblance to Moglet, an abandoned cat which became the club's unofficial mascot in the 80s. Moglet was adopted by the club's ground staff after being left outside the stadium gates and was considered a lucky omen by the players and staff.

A spokesman for the club said: "With King Kenny's men back at Wembley in the Carling Cup final this year, is this new cat a long-lost relative of Moglet?"

It played better than any of the 2legged variety. Dire game cosidering they were playing for points to keep their top4 position dreams alive.

This has been shocking. This is the last thing we need, giving them goals. OOOOO, 2-1 Suarez 80

Evra has just showed why so many people hate him. He is a disgusting individual and so are all the MU fans who are encouraging him. Makes me sick!

Anyway it doesnt matter, they arent gonna win anything this season!

We didnt deserve to win but we made a game of it in the last 10 minutes which just isnt good enough!

Man Utd 2 - 1 Liverpool

Manchester United moved back to the top of the Premier League after two second-half goals from Wayne Rooney propelled them to victory over rivals Liverpool.

Rooney fired in from close range from a Ryan Giggs corner just after half-time before coolly slotting home one-on-one three minutes later.

Luis Suarez poked home a consolation for the visitors with 10 minutes left.

The Uruguayan was again the subject of controversy after refusing to shake the hand of Patrice Evra before the game.

Liverpool's Luis Suarez snubs Patrice Evra handshake

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez refused to shake Manchester United defender Patrice Evra's hand before Saturday's game between the fierce rivals.

Suarez, who was banned for eight matches after racially abusing Evra when the sides met at Anfield in October, snubbed Evra in the pre-match handshake at Old Trafford.

Evra reacted angrily and tried to grab the Uruguayan's hand.

England defender Rio Ferdinand then refused to shake Suarez's hand.

Saturday's lunchtime kick-off was the first time Evra and Suarez had come into contact following the incident last year, which saw Suarez banned for eight games and fined £40,000.

Suarez made a tit of himself before the game, Evra made a tit of himself after the game. Move the fuck on lads!

Both were wrong!

Dempsey with another goal, Donovan with another assist. #ironicallypatriotic
