Don't know why we don't see more players blasting it high down the middle on PK's. I read that statistically straight penalties have a higher goal percentage. It would certainly be more justifiable than cocky chips.
September 3, 201213 yr Of course there would a much higher percentage, for one they're rare, harder to predict, and you'd have to be a bit of a risk taker to do it, and totally nuts to try a little chip (And that Udinese one was the worst I've seen, I've seen keepers stick out a leg or hand as they're diving away, never seen one calmly stand there and catch the ball). So yes what I'm saying is, if more people smashed it down the middle, keepers would anticipate it more, and of course they'd have a much higher percentage of saving a shot down the middle then say, guessing the right way, which half of the time it still slips under them or goes in off the post.
