GOAL - Man City 0-1 Everton - Romelu Lukaku (16 mins)

He's done it again. That man Romelu Lukaku is put clear on goal by a simple punt forward from Phil Jagielka and he beats Joleon Lescott before placing a shot past Joe Hart's outstretched right hand. The City keeper might have done slightly better there, but I'm not sure it was all down to him. City were opened up by one long ball forward and that left Hart exposed.

GOAL - Man City 1-1 Everton - Alvaro Negredo (17 mins)

Talk about bouncebackability! Manchester City level inside a minute, Yaya Toure slaloming through two challenges on the edge of the area before finding the overlapping Alvaro Negredo to his left. The Spaniard is just onside and clips a finish through the legs of Tim Howard.

GOAL- Man City 2-1 Everton - Sergio Aguero (45 mins)

Classy stuff from Manchester City as they take the lead just before half-time courtesy of Sergio Aguero, the striker rifling home from the angle after David Silva's cute pass had given the Argentine striker the run on Sylvain Distin.

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace - Luis Suarez (14 mins)

He scores all sorts of goals this guy doesn't he? Luis Suarez breaks the deadlock with an improvised finish after linking up with Jose Enrique again. Enrique's cutback finds Suarez, who wriggles away from a defender, falls over, but still hooks in while lying on the ground.

GOAL - Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace - Daniel Sturridge (17 mins)

This could be a rout...

Damien Delaney gets isolated with Daniel Sturridge in the right-back position, Sturridge leads him on a merry dance, cutting inside and then out before lashing a superb finish across goal and into the corner.

Sturridge has either scored or assisted 16 goals in his last 11 Premier League appearances for Liverpool.

GOAL - Liverpool 3-0 Crystal Palace - Steven Gerrard (Pen 38 mins)

Raheem Sterling is doing alright in that wing-back role. He wins a penalty as he breaks into the box and Dean Moxey holds him back. Steven Gerrard to take...

That's 99 Premier League goals for Steven Gerrard as he steers home the spot-kick. Anyone else remembering a 9-0 defeat for Palace at Anfield 20-odd years ago...?

GOAL - Cardiff 0-2 Newcastle - Loic Remy (38 mins)

He's at it again. Yohan Cabaye's superb pass splits the Cardiff defence and when Papiss Cisse's shot is beaten clear by David Marshall, Loic Remy calmly steers the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the area. He made that look easier than it was. Top drawer again from the Frenchman.

GOAL - Cardiff 1-2 Newcastle - Peter Odemwingie (58 mins)

That should shake things up nicely. South Wales is rocking again, thanks to Peter Odemwingie's cool finish from 12 yards out. Lots of credit to Jordon Mutch though, who played a cute pass through to the striker. The substitute has made a difference since coming on.

GOAL - Liverpool 3-1 Crystal Palace - Dwight Gayle (77 mins)

The two Palace substitutes combine and it's a goal to savour for Dwight Gayle, who was playing in non-league not so long ago. Jose Campana swings in a free-kick to the near post and Gayle gives it the eyebrows to flick into the net in front of the travelling Palace fans.

GOAL - Fulham 1-0 Stoke - Darren Bent (83 mins)

A goal has arrived late - but it's come for Fulham! Relief all around Craven Cottage as Darren Bent steers in his third of the season, just when they needed it! Pajtim Kasami shoots from range, it deflects off Ryan Shawcross to land at the feet of Bent, and the one-time England man dances around Roberth Huth and Asmir Begovic to convert.

GOAL- Sunderland 1-0 Man Utd - Craig Gardner (5 mins)

What a start for Sunderland! Horrible from Nemanja Vidic as Emanuele Giaccherini's cross from the right is hooked out by Phil Jones to Vidic, but he can't deal with it, It cannons off his shins and into the path of Craig Gardner, who fires home in fine style from 12 yards.

GOAL - Sunderland 1-1 Man Utd - Adnan Januzaj (55 mins)

Cool as you like, 18-year-old Adnan Januzaj silences the Stadium of Light with his first Manchester United goal. Nani gets away on the left of the penalty area and picks out Januzaj in space, the Belgian calmly side-footing home from 15 yards. An equally calm reaction from David Moyes, who looks as if he always knew that goal was coming.

GOAL - Sunderland 1-2 Man Utd - Adnan Januzaj (61 mins)

Permission to get excited about a young player? Granted.

What a goal this is! Nani crosses from the right, John O'Shea can only half clear with a header towards Adnan Januzaj, and the youngster sends it flying back into the far corner with one effortless swing of the left peg. A very, very good finish indeed!

Adnan Januzaj being monitored by England - Roy Hodgson

Adnan Januzaj being monitored by England - Roy Hodgson

Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj is being monitored by England, according to national boss Roy Hodgson.

The Belgium-born 18-year-old scored twice on his full debut as United came from behind to beat Sunderland 2-1. Januzaj has been at Old Trafford since 2011, and Hodgson told Match of the Day he could one day play for England.

"There's no doubt that he's a real talent and we have our eyes on him but a lot will have to be discussed," said Hodgson. "He's been with United for a long period of time and of course that discussion will have to be seriously debated before we start naturalising players. Yes [he could play for England] down the line if he becomes naturalised or if he becomes a homegrown product."

Januzaj, who is of Kosovan descent, is eligible to play for several other countries including Belgium, Albania and Turkey. Manchester United boss David Moyes admitted in his post-match news conference that the Football Association had been in touch with the Old Trafford club about Januzaj's eligibility.

"Yes. There is some way he has a chance of qualifying for England through residency," said Moyes. "I think he's got a choice of countries to play for. He's got probably three or four different countries he could choose to play for. Obviously, he has been called up by Belgium several times and chosen not to at the moment, and he's wanted by, I think, Albania, Croatia and a few others as well."

United were trailing 1-0 at half-time against Sunderland after midfielder Craig Gardner capitalised on poor defending to give the hosts the lead after five minutes. But Januzaj inspired a second-half turnaround, scoring a 55th-minute equaliser by sliding in from Patrice Evra's cross before volleying home the winner six minutes later. It was an impressive display from the youngster, prompting Moyes to liken his emerging talent to that of Wayne Rooney when the England striker first broke through at Everton in 2002.

"He is a real talent," added Moyes. "I gave Wayne Rooney and Ross Barkley their debuts at Everton and he is certainly in their category too. He is someone who we think a lot of and I have tried to get him in the team over the last few weeks but for various reasons it did not happen. He is a really good player, he can do most things and play in lots of different positions."

United are currently in discussions with Januzaj over a new long-term contract, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season. Asked about the latest on those talks, Moyes said: "I think all young boys want to play for Manchester United. I don't know a better place to do their work and have the coaching at a club that promotes young players. If I was the dad of a young player who had the chance to go to Manchester United I would think 'he could get in the first team because that's a club that promotes young players.' And hopefully he would see a manager that promotes young players because that's part of my remit."

Januzaj's goalscoring display also eased the pressure on Moyes following successive league defeats by West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City. The win moved United up to ninth in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool.

"I am pleased we have won, but I am not going to get too excited," said Moyes. "We needed it [the win] but I wasn't getting too low. I thought it was exciting and I enjoyed it today."

Guest howyousawtheworld

Was in the Kop yesterday for the match against Palace. 3-1 - really satisfied with the result made even better after seeing Arsenal draw to West Brom and West Ham batter Tottenham 3-0. Never seen a team with so much possession looks so impotent as Spurs were today.

Cardiff in disarray as Mackay’s trusted aide replaced by Kazakh novice

Cardiff in disarray as Mackay’s trusted aide replaced by Kazakh novice

Having made a solid start to their return to the English top flight after a 51-year absence, Cardiff’s season could be thrown into disarray following a boardroom tangle that has seen one of Malky Mackay's trusted lieutenants suspended.

Head of recruitment Iain Moody, who followed Mackay from Watford when the Scot took the job in June 2011, has been suspended with Kazakhstani Alisher Apsalyamov having stepped into the breach in an acting capacity.

Apsalyamov, 23, has been at Cardiff since February, as executive assistant to CEO Simon Lim. However, WalesOnline report that Apsalyamov had been shadowing Moody for the last couple of weeks.

The fact Apsalyamov has reportedly no experience in football is likely only to further the murmurings of discontent that have been emerging from the Bluebirds camp with reports that the players and board have been at loggerheads over end-of-season bonus payments.

Astonishingly, the Daily Mail reports Apsalyamov had a far more menial task when first arriving at the club.

"Initially brought in to assist the club’s stadium maintenance team three months ago, Apsalyamov was painting walls initially," writes the paper. "More recently, though, the 23-year-old has recently been watching Cardiff’s games on a laptop as if to prepare himself for a new role."

Moody is believed to have been the driving force behind the recent acquisitions of Steven Caulker, Gary Medel, Kevin Theophile-Catherine and Fraizer Campbell - players who have become mainstays in a team that has won two, drawn two and lost three of their opening seven games.

The reasoning behind Moody's suspension remains a mystery but the appointment of Apsalyamov, thought to be a friend of owner Vincent Tan's son, will no doubt reinforce a view that Tan is looking to take a more hands-on approach to his ownership in the wake of the news that Cardiff's players were reportedly unhappy with his forays into the dressing room on matchdays.
