GOAL- Newcastle 1-0 Liverpool - Yohan Cabaye (23 mins)

Wonderful from Yohan Cabaye. Absolutely wonderful. The French midfielder picks the ball up on the halfway line, and with Reds' defenders backing off, is allowed to move to within 25 yards of the Liverpool goal and he unleashes a powerful effort past Simon Mignolet.

RED CARD - MAPOU YANGA-MBIWA (NEWCASTLE)

Yanga-Mbwia was the last man, although the Newcastle players try to claim Suarez was offside when he was through on goal. But referee Andre Marriner pulls out the red card. Yanga-Mbwia is furious, but he has to go. Newcastle are down to 10 men.

GOAL - Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool - Steven Gerrard (pen 42 mins)

Liverpool are awarded a penalty when Luis Suarez is through on goal and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa grabs his shoulder and pulls the striker down to the ground. Steven Gerrard sends his penalty past Tim Krul and it is the Liverpool and England captain's 100th goal in the Premier League. He becomes only the 24th man to reach the milestone.

GOAL - Newcastle 2-1 Liverpool - Paul Dummett (57 mins)

Incredible scenes at St James' Park as 22-year-old defender Paul Dummett puts 10-man Newcastle ahead. He side-foots a volley past Simon Mignolet at the back post after a floating free-kick into the penalty area from Yohan Cabaye.

Dummett has been with Newcastle since he was nine years old and this was his first goal for the club in only his second Premier League appearance.

He had came on to the pitch following the dismissal of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa in an attempt to tighten up the defence, but he could now prove to be the match-winner. Liverpool have 33 minutes to find an equaliser.

GOAL - Newcastle 2-2 Liverpool - Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool make it 2-2 at St James' Park. A lovely pass from Victor Moses finds Luis Suarez and the Uruguay is unselfish to dink the ball across the face of goal and Daniel Sturridge is there to score with a diving header from close range.

Great link-up play between Suarez and Sturridge, who has now scored in eight of the 10 matches he has played for Liverpool this season.

David Moyes: Man Utd boss not blaming Sir Alex Ferguson exit

Manchester United boss David Moyes has rejected claims that the Premier League champions have lost their fear factor since he succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson.

United are eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal after being held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

"Sir Alex Ferguson has a great history and his experience will always work in charge of any team," said Moyes.

"But the fear comes from the team on the pitch."

United have only one victory from four league games at Old Trafford since Ferguson's departure, but Moyes insisted: "The players have always been the people that have to turn out and do it."

Ferguson watched from the stands in his new role as a club director, but United could not build on their win at Sunderland last time out.

Moyes had looked on course to record back-to-back league victories for the first time as United boss, only for Adam Lallana's late goal to cancel out a first-half strike by Robin van Persie.

"I am disappointed because we wanted to get a bit of momentum going today and we weren't able to do that," said Moyes.

"We had the opportunities to get the game finished off. I am disappointed to lose a goal so late on.

"While it was 1-0, there was always the chance that Southampton might get something. I thought we had just about seen it out, then they got the corner late on.

"We didn't do well enough [from the corner]. We work on it and make sure we do it. We have got to do better in the final bit as well, the set piece, defend it and be harder to score against than we were."

Southampton dominated possession for the opening 20 minutes and for extended periods as the game wore on, but United always carried the greater cutting edge.

"We should probably have put the game to bed earlier on, we had a couple of chances, hit the bar and had a couple of other opportunities," added Moyes.

"We had some pockets of play when we were very good and there were times when we were not as good. It was a mixed game at times, but we still had those chances that I was hoping we would finish off."

As Hansen said you can't win the league in the opening few weeks of the season, but you can definitely lose it. And Manchester United have definitely lost it.

Ian Holloway: Crystal Palace boss departs Premier League strugglers

Ian Holloway has left his position as manager of Crystal Palace by mutual consent after less than a year in charge at Selhurst Park.

Holloway, 50, guided Palace to the Premier League via the play-offs last season after joining in November, and had won only one league game this term. A 4-1 defeat by Fulham on Monday left the club five points adrift of safety. "Ian felt that a new approach might help keep us in the division," chairman Steve Parish said.

The Fulham defeat left Palace in 19th place in the table and speculation had surrounded Holloway's job following a post-match meeting with Parish. The pair are believed to have held further talks on Tuesday. Holloway said he spent a long time with his players immediately after Monday's defeat.

Speaking before the match at Selhurst Park, Parish had told BBC Radio 5 live that the manager's position was secure. "Categorically, Ian is the right man for the club right now," he said. "We've got every faith we'll get the right outcome with him at the helm."

Holloway ended a three-year spell at Blackpool - who he guided to promotion to the Premier League in 2010 before being relegated back to the Championship the following season - to join the Eagles, succeeding Dougie Freedman.

Palace were fourth in the Championship table when Holloway arrived, but held onto a play-off place thanks to an 89th-minute winner from Mile Jedinak in the final game of the season against Peterborough. After beating Brighton in the play-off semi-finals, an extra-time Kevin Phillips penalty secured promotion against Watford at Wembley.

The club lost star player Wilfried Zaha to Manchester United, but Holloway was allowed to bring in 16 players during the summer. Although Palace won 3-1 against fellow strugglers Sunderland on 31 August, they have lost their seven other games this season.

He has a worse Premiership record than Steve Kean (I presume, as he was statistically worse in that league before this season with Palace).

Wouldn't want him to manage the team I support. Don't rate him at all defensively.

OK, so bets tonight:

Singles.

Manchester United to be winning at both half time and full time.

Manchester United to score more than 1.5 goals.

Manchester United to score either 2 or 3 goals.

Accumulator (5)

PSP, Galatasaray, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City (in play) to win.

WINNN

Plus the accumulator. The United ones were £1 bets and the accumulator £2 (so £5 in total). Won £10.80. Happy.

Last night I won £23 from £5's worth of bets but then stuck it all on a Brazilian second div game. Won't be doing that again.

(Only been betting for two days, aside from a brief spell about 3 years ago or something. Hoping to get to £20 up again, so I can take the £10's out that i originally put in and just play on winnings)
