Greg Abbott of Carlisle United doing a great job in attempting to be the first managerial casualty of the football league season.

A great job he did too. First manager to be sacked of the season and now Graham Kavanagh is caretaker - got off to a great start beating Sheffield United 1-0. But who's going to be the first to go in the Premier League I wonder? I'm saying Di Canio around November time. Loose cannon ain't the word to describe him although you do have to say his team has been unlucky this season. Seems he can't stay out of the headlines though.

Very hard to gauge what is happening in this league even a month in. We all thought Newcastle and Arsenal were the 'crisis clubs' after just one game and yet both have started impressively.

Going to be an interesting match at the Liberty tomorrow evening. Not an easy place to go to at all. Would be absolutely fantastic if Liverpool could get a result there. Rodgers has got some dilemmas though particularly at the back. Who do you start? New boy Sakho? Instant cult hero Toure who was superb in his opening two games for Liverpool? Or reward Skrtel for his fantastic performance against Manchester United by reinstalling him alongside his old partner Agger? If Liverpool want to defend deep like they did against United then Skrtel would be the way to go. However if they want to defend high up and dominate the game from a possession and attacking point of view then I can't see Skrtel as a viable option. He is very suspect playing in a high line which in my opinion was the major reason for his dreadful form for us last season. If he wants to control the game from a possession point of view then it's probably better to go for Sakho or Toure. It's a good dilemma to have but a very difficult one!

Walsall FC apologise to Wolves for offensive tweet

Walsall today apologised and launched an investigation after offensive comments mocking Wolves appeared on the Saddlers’ official Twitter feed after their derby win at Molineux.

Saddlers officials say their Twitter account was hacked shortly after the final whistle at Molineux, leading to a derogatory tweet that remained online for several minutes before being deleted. The tweet began with the misspelled phrase: “Better look next time” before making offensive comments about Wolves supporters.

The Saddlers tweeted: “Walsall FC would like to apologise for the unsavoury comments that appeared after our official Twitter account was hacked.”

Today, they added: "Our official account was hacked at 22:36 last night and a derogative and frankly disgusting tweet was published. As soon as the club’s Communications Team, who were at Molineux for the fixture, were made aware of the Tweet, it was deleted and an apology issued. Walsall Football Club are taking this matter very, very seriously. A full investigation will be launched. Walsall FC do not condone this type of behaviour and when the culprit is identified the club will be taking the strongest course of action."

Earlier, genuine tweets from the official Saddlers Twitter feed had praised the performance of Dean Smith’s side and poked fun at Wolves after Molineux boss Kenny Jackett described Wolves as “the bigger club” and Walsall as “the underdogs” before the derby. The Saddlers tweeted: “Walsall showed energy, passion, determination, spirit and togetherness. Well done lads. David vs Goliath? Really....”

And they added: “Robert Plant, Noddy Holder, Suzi Perry, Rachel Heyhoe-Flint, Mark from Sam & Mark... Your boys took one ‘ell of a beating...”

Walsall’s players also took to Twitter to express their delight at their victory, with unused substitute Ben Purkiss even joking about the spelling error in the offensive tweet. The full-back said: “If you’re clever enough to hack an account you should be able to spell ‘luck’ correctly! Enjoy!”

Walsall goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell, who made two vital saves, tweeted: “Absolutely buzzing, what a win. Lads different class again. Fans were ledge again. Clean sheet and 3 points no better feeling.”

And midfielder Nicky Featherstone added on Twitter: “Another very good away win and another clean sheet! Takes us into Saturday’s game with a bit of momentum! Day off tomorrow to chill.”
