Dave Holmes: Coldplay To Tour European & US Stadiums In 2009

Featured Replies

Speaking to Billboard, Coldplay's manager Dave Holmes has hinted at the tour itinery for the band into 2009.

Following the conclusion of the first North American leg, the group has international touring on tap through early October, after which it begins another round of North American dates. In 2009, Coldplay will play European stadiums and might even play such venues in North America next year "if we can do the business," manager Dave Holmes tells Billboard.

They BETTER come even just a LITTLE bit closer to me next time round!

I just hope they visit other places like south america and just after that they start touring stadiums

wow US glowed once again in Coldplay history!:crown:

I hope this doesn't mean i have to wait to 2009 to see them in NY. we get impatient here

I hope this doesn't mean that they will pospone a latinamerican tour, I think they should visit Australia and Latinamerica before touring countries they have already visited on this tour.

Although I could wait all the time they want, if they are going to come and do a huge stadium concert and not another boring indoor with seats concert like they do last year.

This is great news. I can't afford to see them at the O2 at the moment.

ooooh, this makes me more optimistic! i hope to see them at least twice, like i did last time :nice:

'"if we can do the business'"? HAH. my god, they're basically the biggest band in the world right now. who WOULDN'T want to make more money off a second round of US touring?!

what about the the southeast? the pacific region - Australia? no real news on when they plan to tour down under again  they have a huge fan base here, they even had to add more dates the last time they were here and now, they plan to tour those places in addition to the ones already in place without a mention of hint of us here. Hm. I'm patient like the best of them, but we're getting little attention compared to others. i'm sure the band will play here eventually as things all end up happening, eventually.

Omg!! hopefully i can see them twice..they are totally boss:D

Alright. Columbus = Ohio Stadium = 105,000 people.

If it's good enough for Zeppelin, it's good enough for

them.

i agree. just don't have the concert in march when Ohio weather is about as predictable as celebrities ACTUALLY staying married. (except for Chris and Gwyneth of course)

That's great nes for thosed who live there!

Yaay ! back in Europe in 2009 :nice:

Dear Dave:

Please let coldplay perform in Israel

Radio staions in Israel are completly in love with coldplay

even one of the students in my school perform with "The hardest part" in a concert by music lessons.

I have a book in english that has the song "clocks" in it!

Please just do a gig here it's not that diffecult :P

If they mean North America, will it include any dates in Canada?! :D I'm missing out on the Toronto's show...I am DYING to see them.

They will more than likely play a couple T.O. shows. As well as a couple in Vancouver and Seattle.

I knew this would happen when so many major North American venues were omitted. It seemed to me Coldplay rushed the summer/fall tour. Hopefully this Winter /Spring tour will be good, especially with a new B-Side album.

2009 is looking up New Coldplay tour and a U2 tour!

Hopefully we'll get a gig with standing tickets in England if this is true,

or maybe even a festival date here.

You have no idea how great it is to hear that kind of news, even though it is not for certain. :D

just out of curiousity

do people think that coldplay shows are better in stadiums than in arena sized venues?
