I can understand the perspectives of both the 'lovers' and 'haters'

but as i personally love the song i gotta support the lovers

The track is just so inspiring and uplifting, it gets you excited you know! It makes a perfectly horrible day, feel a little less horrible

It reminds me that, i can get through even the worst of times

Plus the beat is just sooo WOW... i try and dance like Chris Martin when i listen 2 it ! ahahah:stunned:

Finally I can also listen to Viva la vida and death and all his friends...and I have to say I love Lost!, I love the organs, the beat (ok I'm not totally against RnB or HipHop) , and the message (I'm just waiting til the shine wears off ) and especially the whole part at the end with just the organs, I always wanted to hear something like this...

In my opinion the beat even underlines the message of not giving up... without the beat it would not sound the same strong way.

Somehow Lost! reminds of an old song of Alice Cooper :D, but don't ask me which one...

Edit: I know which song: it's Hello Hooray but just the chorus...

I think I was 'ruined' by the beautiful acoustic version too, but I've slowly come round to the album version. When I'm in a very bright mood I love it, and it's great for dancing - really great - but most other times I'd prefer to hear Lost? I think I'm going to make a CD with the acoustic version for that one track on instead (with LiJ Acoustic as the 'kimchi only' bonus track :))

The other thing I'd like to do, but don't have the technical skill, is to merge the two versions, with Lost? as a base which slowly adds in elements from Lost! I'd also really love to hear a Gospel version of Lost?

A Gospel version would sound great! I can just see the ironic video now too, with religous imagery and Chris banging away on the tambourine!

I'm fascinated by Chris' dancing to Lost in concerts. I've never seen anyone move with more soul and beauty. He does some fancy footwork too! I especially like his dancing in Fix You and Lovers in Japan as well. To see that is worth the price of the ticket. I also like when Chris moves around in a circle like a Whirling Dervish. He's intoxicating and a joy to watch.

honestly coldplay plays it live alot and its on the hot 100 charts while songs like death and all his friends , cementaries of london & strawberry dont get played at all!

honestly Lost! is the only coldplay song i hate because it is over done and that hiphop beat is annoying i like the Lost acoustic version though that should have been on the album

To answer the original question posed in this thread: When I first heard it, I honestly wasn't captured by it. I thought it had a mediocre appeal, and I wasn't excited by it at all. However, like many Coldplay songs, it was Chris' presentation of the song and his soulful interpretation of it through dance that captured me. "Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically and people will like it more" is true. It was Chris' enthusiasm as he sings and dances to the song that won me over to make Lost! one of my favorite Coldplay songs. My goal is to be able to dance as Chris does. For one thing, it seems to keep him in excellent physical shape. He's beautiful physically.

While a lot of live performances are superior to their recordings, I feel that "Lost!" live is an infinitely superior experience. To be honest, I didn't care for the song beforehand, and I think it's lyrics are the worst on the album (yes, I prefer 42 even). But it's a fantastic song to clap along to, and while I wouldn't quite call it an "anthem", it creates quite a bit of energy.

Like I've said in other threads, though, I'd like to see "Lost?" replace it on the next tour.
