  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

Q. I knew the night after the concert in Bogota attended a bar called My Little Darling how they felt? Enjoyed the place? Took some Colombian liquor? I charm the concert was an experience never to forget. I am sure I will tell my grandchildren in 40 years that I was on 4 March to the more imposing looking band in my city Bogota, best band, the most dear, the most expected, the most simple and noble, I love them! And come back soon guys at the next opportunity I'm sure we'll be more than 68mil souls Woooahhhohh singing! Thousand blessings, best wishes, good health and prosperity! We hopefully soon back we are waiting for you with open arms! Thanks for coming!!

The Oracle replies:

Thanks for having us! Yes, a few of us (Chris, Will plus Bat For Lashes and some other family & friends) went to that bar after the show in Bogota.

We didn't drink any Comombian liquor actually; there were a few mojitos round the table though.

Will was most amused (and still is) by the fact that the actual name of the bar is Mai Lirol Darlin aka My Little Darling.

Q. The concert was really awesome! I'm deeply moved for this life experience! Love u guys!!! My question: it was something crazy to see loads of people selling illegally thing about Coldplay, so what do you think about the informal sale outside the concert?

The Oracle replies:

The band saw that last time they were here in Mexico but everyone else was absolutely blown away by the huge Coldplay market as I called it. So many stalls selling bootleg merchandise and there was even one stall totally dedicated to Roadie #42!

We all understand the trade of illegal items in such places and it happens for every touring band.

There are funny stories of the 'swag'... I saw one t-shirt that had lyrics printed on the front that made no sense whatsoever; last time the tour stopped in Mexico, Bash - drum tech - bought a lighter with a Coldplay sticker on the front. When he peeled it off there was an AC/DC one underneath!

Finally, the band's favourite example of inaccurate merch was when there was a t-shirt that said 'Coldplay' on the front but had a picture of Travis!

Q. So did Anchorman find out what was the song which were singing Mexico fans? I'm so curious too!!

The Oracle replies:

It was Roadie #42 who was wondering about it and I have informed him that the audience was singing Cielito Lindo - a popular song in Mexico.

Q. Hi Oracle, I wonder what the band will do now that the tour ends. Take a break? Or will enter a recording time? To be ready when the new album? Many kisses and hugs to everyone, to the boys of the equipment technicians, engineers, lighting designers and all that allowed this to was come reality! Hey hugs to Bat for Lashes they are so talented.

The Oracle replies:

Many thanks to the fans without whom there would be no shows! Guy, Jonny & Will are taking a tiny break but Chris will be straight back to work to continue with what they were doing in the studio before this tour started.

Tonight Guadalajara will be the penultimate show and then we're off to Monterrey for the very last Viva gig.

I'm thinking it will quite emotional to say goodbye to this tour after well over 150 shows since June 2008.

Freaking workaholic :P

Chris for fuck's sake take a break.Spend time with the kids like the other three :)

Chris for fuck's sake take a break.Spend time with the kids like the other three :)

Actually to be fair I think he was in Nashville with them for a few weeks before this tour whilst the others worked on the album, so I guess they're switching :P

Ew.

I guess you're right Mich! But still, it'll probably will be a weird situation for everyone^^

I think the four boys deserve a break. But I guess that if Chris feels inspired to keep working, that's the right thing to do. The real question is:

Are Guy, Jonny and Will taking a break in Latin America?

Awww it probably will be a bit more relaxed at least... Since the rest of the band is taking a break, he will probably only go to the studio to write, compose, etc... I'm guessing they won't start recording until the whole band is there, so his working hours can be a bit more relaxed, and he can choose how to manage his time with more flexibility, and so also get some family time!!

:D

(I'm guessing, this is all just speculation of course... Maybe he's gonna work 24/7... Hope not, he deserves a bit of a break!! Although I'm glad they all had a bit of a break before the Latin American tour, during Christmas and that time, that was quite nice I'm sure)

Q. I went to the concert in Guadalajara last Tuesday and I was wondering, why does Chris mention the Mexican band MANA??

The Oracle replies:

A couple of the band members were at the show. They visited the band at their hotel later; really lovely chaps.

Q. First, I must say the show in Mexico city was the best thing ever... I'm walkin' on a dream, I really love you guys. and more than a question I wanna say thank you, because your music for me is the best, it makes me feel, COLDPLAY! is my favorite band since many years.

So many people thinks bad things about Mexicans and that we are the worst, but you said you really love Mexico, so why? What is the thing you most like about it? Or what do you like about this country??

The Oracle replies:

I have to say that it's not just Mexico but everywhere on the Latin American tour the fans have been amazing. All the people we have met are so lovely and made us all feel very welcome.

Mexico has been so much fun and the Guadalajara crowd were quite possibly the loudest yet even though the venue capacity was the smallest of the tour. Here in Mexico we have enjoyed the hospitality of the people, the food, the climate, the fans and of course the tequila!

Tomorrow's final show is hopefully going to be the best night ever as we say our goodbyes.

 it'd be epic to hear a story of you and the guys drinking tequila :P

I offered to buy and they declined. Not Coldplay, not even my friends. A bunch of boring ass wine and beer drinkers! It's Mexico dammit, you are required to drink the tequila! :p it's ok cuz I drank enough for all of us, which seemed to amuse Franksie.

how can they decline such a good invitation  :P

Q. Hi Oracle! Can you please give us the names of the members of Bat for Lashes? It's a very nice band and very nice girls!!

Thanks for coming to Colombia it was a dream come true!!!

The Oracle replies:

Has no-one noticed that there is also a boy? We were laughing about that the other night as everyone always refers to Bat for Lashes as "the girls". Natasha (vocals) is Bat for Lashes and there have been different musicians over the years who perform with her as part of the band. This current line-up is Charlotte (guitar), Valentina (drums) and Ben (keys/marxophone etc.).

Q. Hi Oracle!

This is related to the shows in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico... I want to know if during Don Quixote the band made the audience sing "Oleee ole-ole-ole, Coldplay, Coldplay" as in Argentina.

Thanks!!!

The Oracle replies:

It was actually the fans who changed the words of the last oles of Spanish Rain (also known as Don Quixote) to Coldplay. Word travels fast and there was no need to ask the audience to sing along as they were already chanting that refrain before the band took to the stage. They also sang it in between songs if there was a spare second. After the first show in Buenos Aires fans have even been singing it outside the hotels; I could hear them from my room!

Q. Dear Oracle... will there be any surprises on the Monterrey Viva gig this Thursday, since it is the last show of the tour? How are the guys taking it?

The Oracle replies:

There has been talk of this over breakfast. It remains to be seen but we haven't long to wait. No doubt both Roadie #42 and myself will report any special occurrences at the very last Viva show... which reminds me, no-one has mentioned that Chris launched into Parachutes in Guadalajara which was an unexpected delight.

Yeah, it was a nice surprise :D

wow MANA visiting coldplay? thats pretty cool. i always saw MANA as Mexico's own U2. :P

In my opinion, Maná was good until Sueños Líquidos, now they are kind of boring.
