Almost everywhere is open on boxing day here. It's one of the biggest sales days of the year.

So what do you guys hope is on it? Famous Old Painters would be cool. Or new songs that we've never even seen the titles for yet.

I know I'm excited. I think we can expect the lyrical Life In Technicolor and Chris' duet with Kylie, and maybe some of those songs that didn't make it onto the record (Prospekt's March, Glass Of Water, Famous Old Painters).

 

I think it would also be cool if they re-recorded an old B-side or pre-Parachutes cut.

Yep, people are always rushing to the mall that day and week because they always have after Christmas sales and people are also returning Christmas gifts.

Will verified that they were discussing the title of the EP and Guy and Jonny seemed to agree also so I'm guessing Prospekt's March will definitely be released this year.

 

I'm a bit worried by Chris's obsession with getting another album out by "the end of the decade". Not worried worried, but sort of confused. It seems like a major change from their recent recording schedules, i.e. 2/3 year gaps between albums. And considering that they'll probably be touring into 2009 with possibly some huge stadium dates if Roadie 42's musings are to be believed, then where is this other album going to come from? And what's going to happen after 2010 - why is Chris so obsessed with getting to the end of the decade and then disappearing into a cloud of hash. Is he just being a silly sausage like he always is, or do they actually have something MAJOR MAJOR planned for after that? I have no idea, but I wish I did.

I'm thinking the EP will contain the leftovers from Viva and the album will be focusing on more newer songs.

I remember back in 2006 or so when they said they had a new album coming out in 07 (of course it turned out to be 08) that they were worried when they looked at The Beatles catalogue and how they were constantly releasing albums all the time. And if the next album is in someway connected to VLVODAHF it would make sense to follow it up pretty quickly instead of wait several years when the public is already tired of the theme?

And I believe The Dubliners will be on it, right? Didn't they state at the Chicago show before they played it that it was "going to be on an EP" that they were working on?

 

Trust me, I saw that in SOME Youtube video. :laugh4: I really hope they take a nice folksy turn with this.
