Petit Prince
Couldn't believe it when I heard it. Can't wait to see how Schumacher will do. Everyone seems to ignore the other big announcement which was made today. BMW to withdraw from F1 German manufacturer to pull out at the end of 2009 season BMW has announced that it is withdrawing its team from Formula One at the end of the current season. The German manufacturer is the second major backer to withdraw from the sport in the space of eight months - Honda having pulled out in December last year. The announcement comes ahead of the imminent signing of a new Concorde Agreement - the commercial document that governs F1 and binds teams to the sport for a set period of time. BMW made its decision after a management board meeting on Tuesday. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12433_5459297,00.html Very sad news indeed. I hope the team can somehow be saved. Hopefully it will and someway I think it will. Similar in the way Ross Brawn and co took over the reigns from Honda F1. Rumours persist that Peter Sauber will return and the ominous Sauber cars will come back in to a team of their own. Fingers crossed! But still THE MASTER RETURNS! PolarMonkey
i will be bloody amazed if he can win the season for Ferrari. but then the man did not win the championship 7 times by sheer flukes (as boring as F1 had become before he retired...cos you just knew he was gonna win. again. :dozey: ) & kudos to him for stepping in to help the team out with Massa out for the count now. Black Rose
He won't win it this year, on account of there being 7 races left and Mr Button being on 70 points :P. Let's hope he doesn't have the form he had in his last 2 seasons.
PolarMonkey
is that a good/bad thing, that form of his? cos i'd kinda lost interest back then & Hakkinen's short break turned out to be a long-term retirement...

PolarMonkey
"a Hakkinen" = the Flying Finn = Mika Hakkinen ---> former F1 driver for the McLaren-Mercedes team ---> Michael Schumacher's most respected rival in F1

Larry
Lol one of my friends bought tickets for the races in Belgium and Italy the other day... just because of Schumacher's comeback! He will be amazed, I'm pretty sure! :D On RTL television they said Schumacher will give a press conference tomorrow. So there's still a tiny little chance. ;)

Guest howyousawtheworld
So anyone for Fisichella for the race win?! Not me though. It's Kimi Raikonnen tipping.
kubralfrings
me neither. raikkonen has the biggest chance with KERS. unfortunately he's not a lucky driver:( so it will be an interesting race. at least i hope it will be:rolleyes:
Guest howyousawtheworld
Hey I was right! Kimi Raikonnen did win! But the SPEED of the Force India.... I did not expect that! Should have won with a better strategy in fairness to Force India. But 2nd and their FIRST EVER points is a MAGNIFICENT achievement! But what about the championship race?! I've never seen a stranger championship than this one in all the years I've watched f1.
Guest howyousawtheworld
2008 Singapore Grand Prix Fixed?? FIA To Investigate Last September's Singapore Grand Prix is to be investigated by the FIA having recieved a piece of info claiming that it had been fixed by Renault in order to get it's star driver Fernando Alonso on to the top step of the podium! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8229787.stm
Black Rose
Kick Alonso out I say and ban Renault. Race fixing is a serious matter.
Guest howyousawtheworld
Kick Alonso out I say and ban Renault. Race fixing is a serious matter. Remember it was Alonso's emails with McLaren's test driver De La Rosa revealing stolen technical info from Ferrari that got McLaren in deep shit (Hamilton was completely innocent as his emails and data were clean). Also Alonso cunningly blocked Lewis in the pits in Hungary 2007 which saw him deservedly punished so the Spaniard's certainly no stranger to controversy. Guest howyousawtheworld
Hamilton on pole for Monza, SUTIL 2nd, Raikonnen 3rd. The Brawns of Rubens and Jenson are 5th and 6th respectively BUT look good for the race because they are on a 1 stop. The Red Bulls are a lowly 9th and 10th. Don't know their fuel levels but I predict them to be on a similar strategy to Brawn GP. If not that is a major concern. Since I predicted right last time I'm going to take a guess on Jenson Button to win ON the basis he doesn't lose any places at the start and he can keep in contact with Rubens Barrichello.
