maybe the coldplayers living in london could help us, im feeling lost (just because im loosing doesnt ...). like sue said we have to read the opinions of the people who have stayed in those hostels or hotels we r looking at and we have to look for a place near wembley, near the center of london and in a safe area :dizzy:.

btw which airport do u think is the better one?

I only have landed at Stansted so far and it's no problem to get to London from there at all.

There's bus services (Terravision, National Express) for 14 Pounds (return).

The Piccadilly line is going to Heathrow.

From Gatwick you can go with a National Express coach as well.

So if you have to get to the airport at unuasual times (like between midnight and 6am) I'd recommend to pick an airport you can reach without changing buses 3 times :).

But others having more experience might be more helpful here...

Got Tickets?

Newbie here-first post on this site.

Anyone have tickets they want to sell?

I need 7 so I can bring my girls from the States. We have seen Coldplay several times including last November 18 in Houston,Texas. Its time for me to make the fly across the big pond anyways, so if we can get the tickets we'll make the trip.

Is the concert sold out yet?:D

In case you r wondering, in my 56 years here on Earth there has not been a better sounding group that I have heard. :)

If you can point me in the right direction to get tickets to this concert I would very much appreciate it. Have a good one !

^you mean Christa's idea of "The Coldplayer"????

(Christa1 had an idea of starting a hotel in London, JUST for coldplayers. It'd be fanfuckingtastic!LOL)

on a more serious note...I'm so glad that ppl are discussing diff. options for hotels and stuff like that...'cause I'm gonna use it for research on where I'll end up staying. Since a lot of us here and on the same boat, it's great to share info. So, THANKS in advace:smiley:

well that's kinda never gonna happen now is it :P

I was being a bit more realistic like thinking people would discuss what hotel to get and we'd all try to get the same one...

Hmmm I've been to heathrow once, never had a problem, but I think it was David who said heathrow probably isn't your best option.. I think he said they have most luggage problems, then again if you're only staying a few days consider taking only carry-on luggage and you should be fine

my problem is that depending which airport i'll departure, then i'll go to one or other airport in UK :\ (depending if i'll stay in london all the time or not)

our regional airport only works with gatwick one and i've heard is not a good one about the arrival times :(

surely i'll need to departure from alicante

i agree with that carla: "I was being a bit more realistic like thinking people would discuss what hotel to get and we'd all try to get the same one..."

If you were talking about Gatwick, it's a good airport, the 2nd biggest in UK..... from there it's easy to get a train fast to London (half an hour easily), then Wembley is one stop from London via train or several stops via underground.

thanks a lot for the info Kara :nice:

We are looking for Gatwick and Luton airports, probably we will decide for Gatwick one (thanks Kara).

But I' have a new question now: My husband works the 19th morning. We will be at the airport at 12:30 PM aproximately. I know that stadium doors open at 16:00h, but at what hour Coldplay plays? I need to know because we have to check-in at the hotel and then go straight to Wembley Stadiumand. We are affraid to be late.

We can't line up... but well, we will try to stay so close to you and the stage as possible :)

Oh, thanks for that info... I am flying into Gatwick and I planned to take train into Victoria Station, but wasn't sure how to get to Wembley from there. I was going to take taxi, but that might be expensive. So there is another train from Victoria to Wembley... that might be another choice.

What I heard about the Generator is that it is more a "Party" Hostel.

Well, that is definitely not what I need when I'm in London...

I only go to my hostel to SLEEP and not for having a party.

I once stayed at the "International House London", it's in Lambeth Road, near Waterloo station.

It's actually a student's home but you can book the rooms during break / non-term times.

This applies for September and it's 23 Pounds per person a night.

For that you get a small room with shared kitchen and shared bathroom but it was at least QUIET and clean and you have your own room.

I was there in September 2007 and booked with www.travelstay.com

I can also recommend easyHotel. Small rooms, but very clean and you have your own (but tiny) bathroom.

Not suitable if you're having claustrophobia tendencies or don't like bright shiny orange :laugh3:

For anybody looking for a hostel: read what other people wrote about their experiences there!!

Once I stayed at a hostel near Notting Hill and there were people staying who couldn't find a flat, so they were there for a long time (with loads of luggage) and were annoyed by people staying only for a week or so.

Since then I decided I'll never book a hostel again where I have to share a room with strangers.

I had a "party girl" in my room coming home at 3 a.m. every night and waking everybody in the room and a crazy woman speaking to herself and praying all the time...:veryangry2:

hey thanks for this!!! thanks to you I already booked easyHotel (20-28th) and on the other site a room close to wembley!!! and i bought a flight ticket as well!!! omg so so EXCITED. who is flying from the us? is anyone going ALONE?

Oh, don't bother with taxis, very expensive at the distance from Victoria to Wembley :)

Okay... the train from Gatwick goes into Victoria station..... THEN, you can either:

1. go into the Underground and catch the Victoria line to Oxford Circus, change to the Bakerloo line to go to Marylebone, catch the overground train to Wembley Stadium which is 1 stop.

or 2, you can catch the Victoria line to Green Park station, transfer to the Jubilee line and catch the Jubilee/Metropolitan line all the way to Wembley Park station :) Then it's a little walk of about a mile to the stadium.

Anyone staying in Paddington?

Thanks for the info, i'm flying to Gatwick too. And from there is easy to go to London, that's great! :nice:

When are you all going to London? I'll be there thursday afternoon, so I have that day and on friday i'm going to line up.

hello,

i have an idea for a big action during the concert!

when coldplay is playing the song "yellow", we could start yellow ballons!

(like 2005 by the u2-concert in munich - there were white ballons during the song pride : [ame=http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=7HErl8hOBfk]YouTube - U2 - Pride & Streets (Live from Munich 8/3/05)[/ame] )

^ chavi and I tried that in antwerp... but I think we didn't have enough balloons, still it was fun :nice:
