Of the album songs the only one I don't like is The Hardest Part.

I didn't use to like The hardest part until i heard the live piano version beautiful...i cant believe earlier said the scientist I mean seriously? thats there greatest creation as it Litii

I cannot stand Swallowed In The Sea. I know a lot of people love it, but it's like nails down a blackboard for me.

All right, just for you, I went back and gave the song another good listen. I was thinking maybe what I'm missing is a good emotional attachment to the song. So I closed my eyes, put it on a second time and imagined myself back at the old lake cabin my grandparents had growing up, walking along on a cold windy day through the little cottonwoods that would pop up along the shore whenever the water levels went down.

 

And suddenly I was like :cry: Easy to Please! :bigcry:

(in a good way though--I've had a few really bad days)

 

Still not my favorite song, but I'm not going to say I can't stand it. In fact, I'm going to re-check it on my iTunes playlist. :nice:

Wow, you really didn't need to do that, so thanks for being so open minded and taking the time to do it just because I disagreed. :P I'm not saying that you have to love it; sorry if it came off that way. I just don't think that the song really deserves to be labeled as "unbearable."

I did some thinking and I cant say that they are any coldplay songs that I really cant stand maybe I'll say I prefer others but Cant stand is too harsh a statement................ After all it's coldplay I love everything about them....................

I love all their songs, but High Speed, Sparks and Daylight are my less favorites

Ah, Daylight is one of my faves... but possibly because it has a great bassline and I spend too much time on the Berryman thread :embarassed:

To be brutally honest on Viva La Vida and Prospekt March there are none that I skip over because all of them give me a HIGH....... I wake up early just to listen to both before I go to work

 

but my less favorite and note I didn't say cant stand would be mmmm A whisper and maybe daylight

Murder, Whisper and Twisted Logic for me...can't think of one off Viva that I don't like..:\ and on Parachutes I have to skip Yellow, just cos I've heard it too damn much..haha :D

I know you didn't mean me and I think they dislike the parachutes era that's because the guys were still aw and now exploring with the music but with each album they improve and mature and fans therefore will have a greater appreciation of the newer albums

The Hardest Part is one of Coldplay's most despised songs, which is very sad, if you ask me. It may be a bit "popish," but I personally find it to be underrated. The song means a lot to me, and I'll stick with it until the end! :army:

I don't really like the idea of skipping tracks on albums (or at least, ones that I love, such as Coldplay's), even if I'm not fond of them. I like to feel that I've listened to the complete album.

It's funny, because this thread got me thinking. Even if you took, say, my 12 least favorite Coldplay songs, and that was hypothetically their only album, they'd still be my favorite band. I think that says a lot. :)

I have a feeling that A Whisper was a song included in order to give the second half of AROBTTH some form of rocky edge, since everything else in the second half is much more mellow and delicate. But it suffers from redundancy, which isn't always a bad thing, but A Whisper doesn't hook the listener. In addition, I'm just not a fan of its style, hence why I'm also not a fan of 1.36. In the end, the song comes off as filler and spoils what is otherwise my favorite Coldplay album.
