What Coldplay songs did you hate at first, but later came to love?

Featured Replies

Didn't like Politik at first, because I thought the drumming was so in your face.

ETIAW. I was way into Fix You when ETIAW was released I found it way too noisy. But then when I saw them perform it at Glastonbury, I came to like it.

i didnt like clocks & one i love at the first time

PoC. At first it felt too not-Coldplay, and I didn't like it very much. But now I really enjoy that one :D

There are a few others that I didn't like, but or they grew on me, or I finally found something in them that really speaks to me, that I love, or a live performance made me love them :D

I honestly never liked listening to we never change until a few weeks ago. I really like it now for some reason though. It just kinda grew on me I guess. I also hated paradise but now it's one of my favourites from this album.

Violet Hill. I thought it was bollocks the first time I listened to it, but then I started loving the intro and slowly after the rest of the song.

When I first heard UFO, it wasn't that I hated it, it was just very underwhelming after all the other huge stadium songs that cam before it on MX, so I was just like "meh". But I listened to it again later and loved it :awesome: Also I used to be not so keen on Don't panic, but now it's one of my favorites from Parachutes

Yes, i used to hate that song and would skip it all the time but now i like it :D

a few songs i still cant find myself liking are cemeteries of london, gpasuyf, and a whisper

Ā

one song i used to love now i dont like is 42 lol

It was originally 42, but as I listened to it a little more in-depth, it turned into one of my favorite tracks from "Viva la Vida or Death and All his Friends." Some other songs would be White Shadows, Politik, and We Never Change

I was just about to post a new thread asking this when I realized this one already exists. Last entry is from 2012, let's revive it - there have been many new members and songs since then.

For me:

Ā

Clocks

Don't Panic

Life in Technicolor ii

Up With The Birds

Well, I never hated any of their songs, but these did took some time to grow on me. Now, they're some of my favorites:

Ā

Politik (I know, I know...)

Low

Ghost Story

Sparks

Ā

"I live to see the world"

It was In My Place for me. didn't like it at first but then randomly decided to listen to it one day and I found myself singing along. Love the song now.

I always skipped over A Whisper for a while after I bought A Rush of Blood to the Head. The song just did not interest me for a long time until last year when I found out that it was played live for only the second time ever. I was inspired to give the song another chance and I have enjoyed it ever since.

I didn't like many of the songs on AROBTTH at first such as GPASUYF, Amsterdam, In My Place, Warning Sign, etc., but now, after more listens, I consider AROBTTH as my favorite album, and I won't skip any of its songs.
