MTV VMA nominations: Lady Gaga, Beyonce lead with nine each

 

MTV announced the nominees for the 2009 Video Music Awards today and Lady Gaga and Beyonce lead the pack with nine nods. Following the two divas are: Britney Spears (seven); Kanye West, Eminem, and Coldplay (four each); Green Day (three), and Jay-Z (two).

 

The awards will be broadcast live from New York City on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9pm. The show will be hosted by Russell Brand.
