This guy's a real good songwriting... His lyrics & the way he conveys the emotions... Biting. He's a rare one.
July 4, 200520 yr Question about a Verve song. I must have been about 10 at the time and it was 1997 or 1998 and ofcourse I wasn't into decent kinds of music so I don't know the name of this song but I remember that I liked it very much, the video was the verve guy( :P )I mean RICHARD sitting on this ball shaped chair that was popular back then and the camera zoomed into his face and out and the background changed, anyone know the name of this song?
July 12, 200520 yr take it u have all heard the live 8 version, for any of you who like the original plz check out: http://www.the-verve.info and plz register at the forum and share your views, memories and tunes! cheers!
September 26, 200619 yr I gotta say, The Verve is now one of my favorite bands, too bad they are long gone. Richard Ashcroft is one hell of a leading songwriter, and Nick McCabe and the rest are virtuosos at what they do. It's very unfortunate that they only get remmebered these days by the song Bittersweet Symphony, there is so much more to them than just that one tune. A Northern Soul is my favorite from them, and I gotta say Slide Away and She's A Superstar are my favorite songs.
September 26, 200619 yr Thought I might bump this thread so as to avoid loads of new ones popping :wink2: Post on here Jacob, I'm willing to show my love for the guys!

September 26, 200619 yr It is indeed. At least it's my favourite. Though that keeps changing constantly, kinda depends on my mood atm. Oh and just read you love Slide Away and She's a Superstar! Funny, those has got to be two of my favourites songs EVER.
September 26, 200619 yr They have 3 official LPs: 'A Storm In Heaven, 'A Northern Soul' and 'Urban Hymns'; 1EP: 'The Verve E.P.'; and 2 compilation albums: 'No Come Down (BSides & Outtakes)' and 'This Is Music: The Singles 92-98'.
September 27, 200619 yr man, I really wanna get A Storm In Heaven and The Verve EP. It's kinda interesting how these guys started off really psychedelic, and calmed down as they evolved. Sort of like the opposite of Radiohead. haha yea, Slide Away and She's A Superstar, definitely my favorites. I bought This Is Music just because of Slide Away.
September 27, 200619 yr Oh I would really reccomend either of those albums! They're awesome. I usually tell people who haven't heard any of their stuff to start backwards, so as to finish with the EP. And oh the artwork :dozey: it's even worth for that!
September 27, 200619 yr oh man, so true. It's just so hard to find the Verve EP and A Storm In Heaven! I guess I'm gonna have to resort to Amazon.ca. Man, I wonder what Richard Ashcroft is like in person. I wonder if he is like arrogant like Noel and Liam his buddies. And I gotta say, I really dig his style. Even though he is kinda freaky looking.
