August 22, 201015 yr Author they were a great aussie band with their first couple of albums. then they turned shit with their 3rd effort so now they're back to being kiwi :D
August 22, 201015 yr I liked the third  Same here. I thought they did a good job with the whole concept album thing.
August 22, 201015 yr Not so sure. I mean, there were a couple of good singles off it, but it just didn't work as well as an album as their first LPs did. The new stuff sounded good live, IMO. U2 ticket update. Prices ranging from $40-$350. Fingers crossed the inner standing isn't $350.
August 22, 201015 yr They're from NZ but they're dicks and moved to australia Why are they dicks for moving to Australia? They are forced to... the market in New Zealand is far too small. A move to Australia, then worldwide, is a logical progression. Even Neil Finn had to move to Melbourne before Crowded House was formed.
August 23, 201015 yr Author heard of a bit of the children collide album last night. it sounds decent so i might check it out soon. also heard Sparkadia's jealousy which is one of my favourite aussie songs from the last few years. any news of a new album from them?
August 23, 201015 yr Yeah Children Collide's album is the triple J feature this week. They don't interest me that much. On the other hand, Sparkadia DO interest me. There is a possible album release before the end of this year, and I have heard reports of even as early as early October. As you may know, they are supporting Little Red on their upcoming Australian tour. I'd imagine the album would be done by then. Last i heard of Alex Burnett he had finished recording and was up to mixing. It will be interesting who he gets to play in the band with him after the other three left for various reasons (babies, etc.) after "Postcards" was released and toured. All and all excited, I really like the sound of this band and they are a big inspiration of mine / sort of sound like our band.

Even Neil Finn had to move to Melbourne before Crowded House was formed. haha. Sorry, I was just being silly. New Zealand's market for mainstream music is terrible. It's mainly just have a few hit singles then never be heard of again. Which is why so many bands go overseas I guess. I do like how there's a market for our more underground bands in europe and the US. Some bands like So So Modern, Die! Die! Die! and Liam Finn have gotten some fame overseas from just touring excessively in a small van.

August 23, 201015 yr Ooh a new person, hi! :D Ah thanks grace. What do we think of this news of a U2 tour? http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/25168/U2-December-tour-dates-leaked SAY WHAT?? Seriously, I stay away from the internet for a single weekend and a U2 tour is announced. I would personally love to see them, but with Muse so close it might be a bit too much... my Dad's a huge fan though, maybe I can convince him to buy me a ticket :P Also heard the new Sparkadia song, liked it quite a bit. Haven't heard anything about an album though.
August 23, 201015 yr Are you going to go to their show Eddie. Also I really hope they play One Tree Hill in NZ again this tour. Such an amazing song.
August 24, 201015 yr Nah I'm not going. Maybe if they announce a show in my city (unlikely) I've got my own music projects to spend money on. Haha.
August 25, 201015 yr Author U2 in Aus/NZ ticket prices Standing: $99.90 P1 Seating: $299.90 P2 Seating: $229.90 P3 Seating: $174.90 P4 Seating: $109.90 P5 Seating: $39.90 RED ZONE: $349.50 U2 are very smart. they know a large proportion of their fan base will prefer to sit rather than stand. a dodgy seating plan for the sydney show http://anzstadium.com.au/Libraries/ANZSdocs/U2_360_tour_seating_map.sflb EDIT: cool info for the sydney shows The groundbreaking configuration, which has no defined front which means the audience can watch from all angles, will see ANZ Stadium’s capacity grow to more than 90,000. The band’s 2006 Vertigo Tour lured 211,747 fans across three ANZ Stadium concerts, making Sydney the Tour’s biggest outdoor stopover outside U2’s home town of Dublin, Ireland. holy #(@)@
