Losers. If was going to BDO, they would have been one of the only acts I was interested in.

In other news, laneway times are up. Here's my plan.

the sydney one is pretty similar

i'll go

The Holidays

Lunch

Violent Soho

Local Natives

Beach House

Two Door Cinema Club

Yeasayer/Ariel Pink

Foals

Cut Copy

I am really quite glad I'm not going to that. Holy Fuck + Deerhunter clash. The 2 bands at Laneways that I really care about. gah.

Luckily, my laneways has one stage :P (but Holy Fuck aren't playing :()

Brisbane timetable is similar as well. Biggest decision between The Holidays or Local Natives. Logic says Local Natives because they're foreign, but I'm really keen to see The Holidays too!

Anyway, my day will go something like this:

Inland Sea

Stornoway

Local Natives/The Holidays

Beach House (possibly Antlers)

Two Door Cinema Club

Yeasayer

Foals

Cut Copy

Which is actually just me staying at the main stage the whole day unless I go see The Holidays :P

Sad to be missing out on:

Local Natives/Holidays

Antlers

Warpaint (:()

Hungry Kids of Hungary

Cloud Control (Though I've seen them twice)

Deerhunter

Holy Fuck

Still, gonna be awesome.

And lol @ Black Keys. I have a few friends going to BDO to see them. Oops.

Edit: Oh and thanks for the heads up on Cut Copy, Bryce! Looking forward to hearing it :awesome:

soooo very glad that Tame Impala got no.15 in the cping countdown. never ever thought Tame Impala would enjoy success like this so early in their careers but it just goes to prove the old adage, good music sells! (well so does shit music)

^I think that was largely due to the amount of promotion we put into it and stuff. Everyone in the thread here put it fairly high on their lists and I know myself that I recommended it to a fair few people throughout the year.

Lol what is it with people pulling out of Good Vibes? Not that I really care because I don't think I know any of her (^) stuff.

I'm mainly going for Phoenix and Friendly Fires. The Ting Tings might be cool to see too, though I don't know any of their work outside the singles everyone knows.

Also might be fun to see Bag Raiders and Yolanda Be Cool :P

Tim and Jean are good too..

Laneway's filling up all the festival-related thoughts in my head at the moment though!

And I'd like to go to a few of the flood benefit gigs they're holding in the next few weeks.

Ting Tings? Yuk Ms Graceful

Oh I'm not really a fan either, I've just heard that they're really good live. If anyone better is on at the same time I'll ditch that plan :P

have the Ting Tings done anything since........whatever they did in 2009....

Not that I'm aware of. But probably, if they're touring again.

I am in Melbourne. I like your country :P

except all the shows I'm interested in happen after I leave, and most of them are R18...

so is anyone going to any BDO's or sideshows this year? i remember last year we were all over them. i'm stuck in summer school the entire week so thats why im not going. i think if i didnt have that on i would've taken up this 2 for 1 offer just so i could see Tool.

No, not this year. I didn't want to sacrifice an extra week of time visiting my family at home, and there weren't that many acts I was interested in apart from The Black Keys. Plus I'm already going to two other festivals.

And well done Eddie :P I like Melbourne too.

OMG! would people stop quoting that stupid survey. they asked 4000 people in the entire country. theres almost 5 million of us living in sydney and loving it. but i think a lot of that animosity would have to do with how great it was living here straight after the olympics. things have really slowed down ever since.
