July 10, 201016 yr oh well what can i say ive been without internet access for over a week só i have not been able to post anything or make online contact, but i rearranged all of my plans so that i could make it to the much talked about and anticipated picnic to have most of the persons did not turn up. I think that it was disrespectful and unfair not to me necessarily as i was unable to maintain contact but to the others who did turn up and travelled from far away. Even if for some reason they were unable to make it they could have said somethíng but instead they kept insisting that they were coming via text messaiging. This was very rude and inconsiderate on their part as we sat and waited for them four hours. Despite this i did have a great day and i gót the chance to meet some awesome coldplayers.
July 10, 201016 yr Pic: Good points about my and Bea's day-trip to London: 1 - The trains were running to time 2 - Meeting Mark and some of the other ladies 3 - Laying on the grass under the tree at Hamsted Health having the picnic walking the world go by 4- Sitting in the Dublin Castle having a drink and getting given a free cd by a new band called Lovehead 5 - Visiting the bakery Bad points: 1 - The f*cking heat, 32C it damn hot for the UK, and even hotter in the underground :P 2 - Missing the connecting train coming back by less than a minute (got to the ticket barrier just as the train was pulling away from the station) 3 - Not meeting up with the other ladies for the picnic
July 10, 201016 yr The picnic was really nice. :D We brought food and candy and after eating we had fun with Frida's brand new kite! Anna and Natascha climbed a tree. I tried, but yeah...No, did not succeed. Hehe. We took alot of pictures! We'll upload tons when it's all over. I do believe Carrie has a special surprise for you now though...I am not saying what! :P Mwuahaha. One sad thing was that Pete couldn't come. :( I had really hoped to see him. We are keeping butterflies with our usernames for you though, Pete! There are candy left for you to enjoy. I'll personally see to that it all won't get eaten tomorrow when we watch the football game! Promise. I'm really sorry to read this, we never meant to leave anyone out! There must have been some kind of misunderstanding or miscommunication (as you mention). It was never our intention to have you waiting! We would have loved for more people to join us! After we split up there was some people we did not see again and I am not sure what happened there. As I don't know everybody's usernames, I am sorry to say I can't really place you. Most people has been keeping contact with Anna though and I know she has tried to reach people we never met up with in Hampstead.

However, I was able to spare enough juice in my laptop to upload a picture for all of you. After the long afternoon/evening at Hampstead Heath for the picnic, we decided to walk back toward the hostel and find a place to eat on the way. We were craving some pizza, so we stopped at one place to check out the menu and prices. Unsure, we decided to take a look at the pizza place a little further down the street so we could determine which place we wanted to eat at. While we were looking at the menu, Anna spotted someone; we thought it would be best not to eat there, in case we couldn't contain our fan geek-dom. We didn't want to be rude, after all. But as we left, I decided to take a picture of Natascha and Frida; although I wasn't REALLY taking a picture of them, I was taking a picture of who was sitting beyond them. Drum-roll please for the man in black... MILLER!!! :awesome:

I have to admit that reading that didn't make the ending to this day very fun. You guys do know that I'm barely 21 and don't really have any experience with this stuff? The only thing I hadn't been able to prepare was the venue, because I thought Hampstead Heath was the best place but I don't know the area well...so I asked and asked on this thread and on the meet-up group if people could help me with that, but no-one replied. I'm really glad you had a great day, but I'm very sorry you weren't able to meet up with everyone else. I have no idea about that as I wasn't able to come (I'll explain about that in a minute) but I posted my mobile telephone number on the meet-up group, and if anyone had any trouble they only needed to call me and I would have arranged everything for them. I don't know what else I could do? I don't know how you could decide to go to any place for the picnic without internet access for a week, as the venue wasn't decided then? I would say that was a huge mistake, wouldn't you? There are internet cafes in London you know? I also find it very strange that you have managed to get internet access after the picnic to complain, but not beforehand when it would actually have been useful... About the text messaging I'm very sorry to hear that. I don't understand what happened but I'm absolutely certain it was an honest misunderstanding. The main ladies who organised today (in my absence) are good, honest people. As for your complaint that the organiser (me) did not turn up, why didn't you contact the organiser when you had problems meeting up with the others? Although I couldn't come I have spent the day checking the forum here and helping to organise things between people on my phone as I could, when people asked me. I've been planning and looking forward to this for so long, only a life or death matter would have kept me from coming, and that is what happened. Whilst you had a 'great day' despite your disappointment, I have not. I missed the picnic because a close family member is gravely ill and I'm taking care of them. I tried my best, and think I did pretty well given the circumstances. I wish I could have been there and done more. Everybody I have met on the meet-up will tell you, I hope, that I try my very best to organise things, to make sure everybody is included and comfortable, and that everybody gets everywhere OK, but it was impossible for me to do more today. I did everything I could.

July 11, 201016 yr I have no idea why there appears to have been such a huge communications break-down re: the picnic today, but I think everyone had a great time even so. For me, it was actually the best day of the year so far. I enjoyed pretty much every minute of it, except maybe for the brief time we stood in the blazing heat while some of the group searched from some toilets!;) Fortunately the overall time spent in direct sunlight during the entire day was minimal, so the heat didn't really become an issue, thankfully. After meeting at Belsize Park tube station, Dave, Bea and I met one half of the group (including the French contingent) in the vicinity of The Bakery and The Beehive. After a fairly lengthy photo session (photos to come later), the group walked up to Hampstead Heath, which is very close by indeed. There we found a good spot in the (much-needed) shade of a large tree at the top of the hill, and had our picnic and took some photos while waiting for the others to arrive. When, after a couple of hours, it became clear that nobody else was coming, we decamped and took a slow walk back to Belsize Park station. Nadia then called it a day, and the rest of us then headed off to the Dublin Castle via the Northern Line. After very pleasant drink and chat (accompanied by Coldplay songs on the jukebox, of course), David and Bea headed for home while the remaining five of us had a very enjoyable meal in a tapas bar just a short distance along the road from the pub. I thought the food and service in the bar (called Jamon Jamon) were excellent, and I can definitely recommend it to any Coldplayers who visit Camden.:D Finally came the highlight of the day for me when we stumbled across a bar where there was free live music. The band was pretty good, but even better was to come when we bumped into a friend of Chris! He spotted my "butterfly" T-shirt and asked us how we had come to be there, and after I explained how it had come about, he revealed how he knew Chris through one of Chris's best friends from uni (the one who had inspired "The Scientist") and had actually been at Wembley as a VIP guest of Chris's. I'm not going to divulge the guy's name for obvious reasons, but we know he was legit as he showed us his VIP/backstage pass and the official tour butterfly "medallion" he had received. He then said he would mention to Chris that he had bumped into us, and he seemed very genuine, so I'm confident he will do so. He also told us how he was used to getting "stick" for being a Coldplay fan. I think we can all empathise with that!:P Anyway, as I said, everyone in "our" group had a fantastic day, and I hope the other group did too, however they ended up spending the day. I hope there'll be other meet-ups as enjoyable as this in the future. I parted company with the others at the tube station and they headed back to their hotel while I began my train journey "home" in the opposite direction, listening to X&Y on the way. Thanks again everyone for your wonderful company and I look forward to seeing you again soon!:cool:
