The Pet Shop Boys are to release a Christmas EP featuring a Coldplay cover, they have announced.

 

The pop veterans played their version of Chris Martin and co's "Viva La Vida"

 

It will feature alongside their take on "My Girl" by Madness, as part of the five-track collection.

 

The tracklisting also features "It Doesn't Often Snow At Christmas", "All Over The World" and "Viva La Vida"/"Domino Dancing"/"My Girl" (Our House Mix).

 

"Christmas" is out on December 14. across this summer's festival circuit.

Hmmm sounds like it might be interesting. I'm very particular about people covering Coldplay though so it'll have to be spot on for me to like it...

As I said in the Weezer VLV Cover thread, the Pet Shop Boys performance of Viva La Vida is my favorite cover of the song from the many I've seen. For one, it actually doesn't suck.

Loves it! PSB covers are always good and I thought their version of VLV was one of the best. PSB fans are raving about this too.

I must admit that this Roskilde Festival version

was indeed excellent and not a sort of perversion
