Spain is not a great team. Spain NEVER was a great team. I have no idea why people thought Spain could win the WC.

C'mon, wake up, you guys deify PUYOL! :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

brazil hardly set the world alight in the first game considering they were playing the worst team

blackburn fan who remembers n'gog hitting the bar this season and us drawing :)

i'm happy to see liverpool aren't a force anymore

actually they are an embarrassment.

We have no manager at the moment, but no manager is better than having Sam Allardyce.... That guy's football philosophy sickens me. He is the very cancer of English football. No offence but it's true. Loves to cosy up to his 'pal' Sir Alex just to get some recognition from the big guy at the top. A bit like a pathetic schoolboy wanting the attention of the popular kid at school. Heck the bastard even try's to copy Ferguson in every way. Sitting with the directors, chewing gum furiously, wearing overcoat, refusing to talk to the BBC. Heck the **** even had to have a heart operation so he could resemble Ferguson.

Brazil didn't played well against North Korea, and played well agains Ivory Coast. But this discussion is about Spain.

Brazil, even when not playing well, won the WC 5 times. That's something that should always be considered.

Now, what did Spain ever won? It's not like they have lots of honours!

That, summed to the fact that they lost to Switzerland and that they deify Puyol, a horrorful player, gives me the conviction that Spain is not a great team.

i'm unsure of who you are talking about but i presume it's either spain or italy who both won major tournaments in the last four years. surely i'm wrong if you are saying neither win anything.

Spain has never won a world cup, that's what i was saying.

Italy has won four, tell me other team besides Brazil

that's done that.

That's exactly my point.

I don't like the "anti-football" Italy plays, and I certainly don't want them to win the WC, but I just can't ignore 4 WCs.

Italy are a great footballing nation who I admire greatly! They have very much defined European football. Traditionally solid at the back, keep possession and nick a few goals that has defined the playing style of such managers like none other than Jose Mourinho (who plays a bit too much lumpy football personally). I don't think for one moment that there football is 'anti football'. I feel football in Italy has been the most intelligent in the world game. They centre their teams round players who can defend and attack in a matter of moments. And who can argue with a nation which has produced without doubt the greatest defenders this planet has ever seen. 'Anti football' is the rancid tactics of football managers like (in England) Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis.

You like to brag cos you're brazilian.

Exactly, it's just a different style. You just don't receive goals and score in the first chance you can... It's succesful and effective, although I prefer ofensive and beautiful football like the one Brazil produces.

You like to brag cos you're brazilian.

What is Puyol doing? He just kept going back and letting Iarley go forward.

I'm glad he sucks, thanks to him the team I support won its more important honour. :laugh3:

Italy never won playing the artistic football. It's their style, I respect that, but I don't like it, and I don't want them to win. It's simple as that.

You should marry Puyol, you seem a bit obsessed with him.

The spanish consider him a DEITY, they're the ones that should marry him.

And what's with your love to Spain? Got tired of supporting a country that didn't qualify to the WC?

I'm half spanish. And I don't see Puyol as a deity, in fact, I couldn't really care less about him.

Well, there are exceptions. But let's forget Puyol.

Do you actually believe Spain might win the WC?

I did 2 years ago. Even a few months ago. But not anymore, if you read at least one of my posts responding to Macintosh, you'd see that I clearly stated that I don't believe they'll win and that I'm not betting on them cos that would be naive and stupid so I'd rather support the teams that are playing great.

Yes I heavily support Spain, and I love the team, but I'm realistic, they won't even qualify, so I'd better enjoy supporting some other team.

Cos you said my team sucks like your team has always won all the cups.

I mean, good, your country is no. one in football, but no need to be so arrogant.

I'm sorry if I sounded arrogant, but I'm just stating the facts.

Brazil is playing way better than Spain.

And Brazil is not "my" team, I don't support Brazil. Actually, I couldn't care less about Brazil. That is my team

But you're brazilian

I live in the southernmost state of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul. We're not exactly "brazilians". Actually, my father and most of my friends are supporting Argentina.

I'm not supporting anyone.

In Rio Grande do Sul they practically speak spanish...My friend from Sao Paulo doesn't even consider them Brazilian...

For an american, you know a lot about Brazil :stunned: :)

Actually, I still don't understand why your profile says you're from Argentina while you're from USA :stunned:

Why is your state among Brazil states when you don't consider yourself brazilians?

Why is your state among Brazil states when you don't consider yourself brazilians?

That's a casuality of the destiny. Go read about the War of Tatters and you might understand it.
