The Jonas Brothers are so much better then Coldplay. I just wanted to shoot one of my best friends...

People are just narrow minded, that's the problem. They've heard Yellow, The Scientist, Fix You and Viva La Vida and they think they know all about coldplay.

Well... they know nothing.

Although I love how everyone was eating their words when Viva La Vida came out. Everyone loved that song... :)

my english teacher told me how in 2006 his friends dragged him to a coldplay concert & he said it was probably the worst 3 hours of his life. i was like, "you didn't even like clocks?!" he's like:

"clocks is probably their worst song! it's just a bunch of whining to some organ music!" then he tried imitating chris going, "ooooohhhhhhhhh" in a whiny voice.

when people say that coldplay songs are depressing, slow abd for slitting wrists to, exactly which songs do they mean?

Fix You? What, the song with an amazing climax at the end which gives you goosebumps and makes you want to hug somebody?

The Scientist? That song is all avout love and relationships, not about your wife dying or something.

 

Do you get what I mean? even Muse's songs are more depressing, they sound the same and almost all of their songs are in minor keys!!

second, these people who say coldplay songs are too depressing and slow, what I think is, if it is lower than 234 bpm, it's too slow for your average pop music lover.

Well, I've got to agree with Electric.Candy, I think he does have a slightly nasal-y voice. There's nothing wrong with that, some people just have that quality. I work with a lady who has a nasal-y voice (even more so than Chris)... it sounds like she's always got a cold.

Nobody's ever suggested Chris is one of the world's greatest vocalists. However, his greatness isn't based on vocal talent alone, it's his all-round talent and personality that counts.:cool:

Argh. I hate when people say this. Instead of actually listening to the music, they listen to the speed of the song. "It's slow, so they suck." is the main excuse my friends hate them. I think just because all their famous songs are slow, everyone automatically assumes all of the songs are like that.

 

Luckily, I have a friend who loves Coldplay almost as much as I do. About three of my friends actually really enjoy them, and know more songs than "Viva La Vida".

It's just so stupid how people are so quick to judge them.... but at the same time, it would suck if everybody liked them.

 

Which is why I like them even more. Musically, I don't listen to the popular crap. Coldplay is real music.

 

Pop is not.
