^Because this is a British-based international board, and it's easy to hear international releases these days, the rule is that the official release date for these lists is whichever of the two came first: the British release date or the American release date.

Since Sigh No More's first UK/US release date was October 2009, and it was a very popular entry on the 2009 list (#20), it is considered a 2009 album.

Hope that clears it up. :)

Err...

What I meant was that my blog derives it's name from the most beautiful song ever (i.e. after Fix You)... Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah.

The lyrics contains this line "Well, I heard there was a secret chord, Where David played and pleased the lord but you don't really care for music...."

This is for everyone who hasn't heard the song "Hallelujah". GO LISTEN !!!. It's awesome. And while you're downloading or listening to it, check out my blog too. (Sorry, For the stupid publicity of sorts).

I know the song and the lyric, but it's actually written and originally performed by Mr. Leornard Cohen ;)

The cut-off date for the release dates on the albums for this countdown is November 30. Anything released in December of this year will carry over into next year's countdown. I think that Gorillaz album was released quite recently, so I'm afraid that one's a no-go.

My new entry list:

1 - Jedward - Planet Jedward

2 - Westlife - Gravity

3 - Rod Stewart - Fly Me to the Moon: The Great American Songbook, Vol. 5

4 - Miley Cyrus - Can’t Be Tamed

5 - Justin Bieber - My World 2.0

That's 5, good.

Have a good day

:laugh3: Somehow I don't really believe you...

The cutoff date has always been mid-December, so The Fix being released Dec 25th wouldn't have counted if it was any other year either. The poll just had to go a little late this year.

Because in the past early December was such a fuzzy complicated time, being eligible for two years, I decided to reduce confusion once and for all, and set a hard cutoff date of December 1st. The idea is to give all those end-of-year slow-burners a chance to actually get a following and make next year's list. If I let you vote for the fix now, it would get a grand total of one vote. Since it's eligible for next year's list, it might get several votes once people are more aware of it. That's the thinking.

Also, you forgot Katy Parry on your list. :P

Oh my gosh. I did it. I actually made a list. :freak:

I'm not sure if it's exactly numbered the way I want it, but I'm pretty sure these are the albums I want, and the albums are generally around the area I want to place them. I wouldn't have much time to make edits, anyway, so it may stay the way it is simply due to time. This was incredibly hard for me. :dead:

Anyway, here it is:

1. "High Violet"-The National

2. "The Suburbs"-Arcade Fire

3. "The Courage of Others"-Midlake

4. "Go"-Jónsi

5. "Happiness"-Hurts

6. "The Brothel"-Susanne Sundfør

7. "The Age of Adz"-Sufjan Stevens

8. "Tourist History"-Two Door Cinema Club

9. "Heartland"-Owen Pallett

10. "Hands All Over"-Maroon 5

11. "Immersion"-Pendulum

12. "The ArchAndroid (Suites II & III)"-Janelle Monáe

13. "Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor"-Caro Emerald

14. "Acolyte"-Delphic

15. "Plastic Beach"-Gorillaz

16. "Wolves and Thieves"-Goldheart Assembly

17. "Beachcomber's Windowsill"-Stornoway

18. "We Built a Fire"-Seabear

19. "Les Chemins de Verre"-Karkwa

20. "I Speak Because I Can"-Laura Marling

21. "Contra"-Vampire Weekend

If it's any consolation, it's really, really killing me that I can't put the Tron Legacy soundtrack on my list since it came out in December. :mean: I think in terms of the history of electronic music it's something really special and significant and I like listening to it too. Yes, it will be hard to remember it for next year's list. BUT (*sigh*) it WILL be eligible for next years list and unless there is a torrent of other more significant albums, it will show up on next years list. :sweatdrop:
