Rock in Rio is a big music festival that started in the city of Rio de Janeiro during the 80´s. It was also held in Lisbon and Madrid. In 2011, Rock in Rio will take place in its original home, Rio de Janeiro during the last week of september.

Rock in Rio has been the largest rock festival in the world, with 1.5 million people in the first edition, 700,000 in the second, about 1.2 million in the third, and about 350,000 people in each of the 3 Lisbon editions.

 

The thing is, there´s this producer (Gabriel Simas - and no, he doesnt work with the Rock in Rio crew) that has been giving tips about the bands that will perform next year, and one of his tweets were:

"One of the band that will be in Rock in Rio is that one with the butterflies shower" -

Yesterday he annouced that Red Hot Chili Peppers would be one of the headliners and said that Snow Patrol and Coldplay would be there too:

"Snow Patrol will open for Red Hot Chili Peppers and Coldplay will be the headliner for another day in Rock in Rio. And Guns n´Roses" -

Hours after that RHCP and Snow Patrol were confirmed for the 2nd day of the festival.

i don't remember brazil in particular now but coldplay owe the portuguese speaker fans many concerts from 2009 concerts.

 

may be is true, when does normally the rumours and final list is known and so for that festival there?

But they were here in March... :uhoh: and they always come here at the end of their Tours: sep/2003, feb/2007 and mar/2010 (and thats why I can´t believe that this can be true....)

rumours of coldplay playing in any of they EU RiR (Madrid, Lisbon) have been around the last years, but never became true. :\

But september 2011, Brazil would be the first country to host a concert after the VLV tour? Possibly the album will be reselased in march, april... And the first concert of the VLV tour was in July 2008 with VLVODAAHF being released in June... Well, it doesn't matter! :awesome::wacky:

You dont need to worry about that! The tickets that will be sold now are half of the real amount...

And I don´t that they will confirm Coldplay´s perfomance by now... I think they´ll do it just by february/march by the time the band announces the releasing date of the new album.
