^^ Me and Tennessee wasn't Oscar material compared to Country Strong or Coming Home

I agree to an extent, but I thought "Me and Tennessee" was a bit deeper, so that's why I championed it, but ah well.

 

And I agree he probably wouldn't have attended, but part of me thought he might just because it looks kind of assholish not to go, but :shrug:.

I didn't think the song was really "deserving" of it (of course, I don't like country music so that could be skewing my opinion a bit). But again, it would have been amusing to see him there, and an acceptance speech would have been "interesting" to say the least.

I liked the song but wasn't impressed, so i'm not surprised it doesn't get nominated... It would have been funny though, to see him deal with that sort of thing =)

Its reminds me of The Hunger Games, and Hollywood is the commercial aspect of the capitol.

I´ve listened to Me And Tennesse a hundred times and I must say it´s just beautiful and I am not even a country fan! I like "Coming Home" as well but melodically speaking there is no competition here: Me and Tennesse wins hands down. Then again Oscar voters have never been really good with music selections hehe

He had had a great choice with the support of cute vid, he singing and playing a country guitar and of course wearing one of him so shabby shirts:P

There are far too many people on here who are clearly blinkered by their love of Coldplay that they cannot see how good "Me and Tennessee" is, at least the likes of Valypan and others get it.

 

Those doubters are all entitled to their opinions (even if those opinions are somewhat "it is country and it is not Coldplay, so it is rubbish") but in my view, "Me and Tennessee" is probably in my Top 5 Chris Martin songs - I would say I have listened to the track over TWO HUNDRED times and still don't tire of singing along - and the hairs on the back of my neck still stand up thanks to the incredible melody.
