June 4, 201115 yr I think it's a little bit to early to judge LP5 and categorize it as an uptempo album with average tracks . I don't even know how can you judge the album already and say it's not fresh when you haven't heard it yet  You are worried about what are you going to listen after summer ? Well you know what ? There will probably be anoter single more appropriate for winter but for now ETIAW works as a great summer song. I agree, we still don't know what songs will be in LP5. But if Teardrop is kind of new band direction, well, it's sad. Because it's bad. Why they are nervous? Because they know they could screw up LP5. If the band itself unsure in their own music, that's a bad omen.
June 4, 201115 yr Now they tweeted something like 'Chris wrote a new song'... I'm confused now.. I'm thinking ETIAW isn't a part of the new LP.
June 5, 201115 yr look what i came across today on my adventures around the town. Reminded me of the possible theme/title for LP5 straight away :D
June 5, 201115 yr The Lp5 is gonna be so awesome.Evry teardrop is nothing compared to, Hurts like heaven, Charlie brown, Major Minus and Princess of China. I think princess of china is simular to Lovers in Japan, Yes and Lost together :D fking awesome, defintly a late june, earlyJuly release!
June 6, 201115 yr At my work in our CD section we have all the upcoming CD releases and it goes up to the end of July. Sooo..I'm going to say August at the earliest..
June 6, 201115 yr Now they tweeted something like 'Chris wrote a new song'... I'm confused now.. I'm thinking ETIAW isn't a part of the new LP. Maybe they suggest they are still working on it. But yes it's rather confusing message.

What if they announce the CD in like 10 days before the release!? Then it could be before...I'm not losing hope  Do you mind if I ask you, rainplay, what is your job?

Unless they're going to announce the CD 10 days before like Alien Radio said (something I call "pulling a Radiohead" :P), I still maintain August is too early. The Oracle said today it's not 100% done yet, and that it seems to be recorded completely, but now is time for all the technical stuff. If that's going to take til about the end of June (a total guess) and they're doing this in the conventional industry-approved way, July alone really just isn't enough for the typical amount of promotion in addition to all the production of the physical CDs and vinyl records and all that. I still say October. The Oracle even said to look to what the EMI rep said ages ago, and he said "autumn," which I take to mean post-September 21. I remain firm on my October prediction :D Now that we've heard some songs, I'm more impatient than ever (though I think I'm still fairly patient compared to some people :P). But we DO have an ETA, and I'm pretty sure they 100% confirmed that it would be out in 2011. That means the ABSOLUTE WORST is Christmas for the release, and even then...time flies, guys
June 6, 201115 yr And if we're going to get really precise, my opinion is that the album will be released Monday, October 3 in the UK and Tuesday, October 4 in the US :P The first South African gig is October 5, and that's a proper GIG, not a festival. I think it would make sense to have the very first real gig very soon after the record release, and they're already going to be warmed up from the festivals anyway...so I see no reason to delay having their first proper show after putting out the record. Also, it would be kind of weird to have a proper gig after the festivals without a record out, if you ask me, but that's also completely possible.
June 7, 201115 yr Im hoping for July... That way i can actually buy the album :D If its after july, then i wont be able to get the album until maybe next year !!!!

Also, it would be kind of weird to have a proper gig after the festivals without a record out, if you ask me, but that's also completely possible. That's in South Africa, not South America. The first--and only- show in South America is on October 1st and it's Rock in Rio. But all the other info is ok :) Those gigs in South Africa seem to be the first shows of the tour. I still think October is the month, especially after what the Oracle said today.

WOW, I really meant to type South AFRICA . Oof. I think I made that mistake because I was just talking on Twitter with friends about how calling it "SA" was misleading, because it could mean South AMERICA as well as South AFRICA. *runs to edit post* :uhoh:
June 7, 201115 yr June 25th? Just a few minutes ago German radio station 1Live announced LP5 for July 1st. But I am not sure if we should really believe it cause they said it "by the way" while they were joking around with the similarities of "Ritmo De La Noche" and ETIAW...
June 7, 201115 yr That sounds kind of like a joke to me, I guess...but I won't say I'm not intrigued by the idea. Even though my gut tells me they'll release it conventionally and the Oracle said it's "a long way off," I would also not be surprised at all if they did a surprise release. What that would gain them, I have no idea, but I think it would be fun for some band that's not Radiohead to try something like that out and see what it does to sales. The hype alone of something like that from a huge band would be fun to watch.
June 8, 201115 yr The new songs will make up a EP as a stop gap until LP5 is out in 2012........a return to the stripped down approach of the first two albums :)
