January 21, 201115 yr I thought I smelled arguments coming from here! I'm going to end this by trying a different approach: Ivet. Please stop. PLEASE. Other than this nonsense, I honestly have no problem with you. I find your music taste impeccable, as despite your hatred for Muse, we have a lot of the same artists in common. You got me into Sufjan, for crying out loud. I'm not doing this to purposely cause drama. I'm just trying to get you to understand exactly what you're doing. This is just crazy, I can't believe you're being serious. I don't know where to begin so I won't say much, someone criticising a band you like does not affect the band or YOU, or at least it shouldn't, if they've made this massive difference in your life then great, but clearly there's still some work left if you're getting upset over something so irrelevant to your life. Ivet probably could have handled it more respectfully but at the end of the day she doesn't have to be just because you are over-sensitive and being unbelievable, I'd imagine it's very hard for her to actually take this seriously how much it all upsets you, but look at this in the grand scheme of things and realise that it's just nonsense. Trying to handle nonsense respectfully is impossible. umh, i never got mad at you for making fun of sufjan, that's fucking stupid I was going to bring up the point that I wonder how Ivet would react if Sufjan got the same abuse, but if this is the case then fair enough, indeed it would be fucking stupid. RH are one of my favourite bands, people can say whatever they want about them but the annoying thing is how they have these sweeping generalisations about their fans, though I can't say I even care enough to comment on that when I see it (Like in this thread).
January 21, 201115 yr This is all so fucking ridiculous. I think what i said earlier in this thread was misunderstood , i'm not saying radiohead is the only band in the whole wide world with some pretentious fans. I think someone said all radiohead fans are pretentious which is not true because not all of them are pretentious elitist fucks but some of them are ( i know a few) . I'm pretty sure there are pretentious fans for any band that exist, i was only replying to the comment where rh fans were mentioned. All clear? Good. RH are one of my favourite bands, people can say whatever they want about them but the annoying thing is how they have these sweeping generalisations about their fans, though I can't say I even care enough to comment on that when I see it (Like in this thread). the pretentious comment annoys ppl here this is why is getting repeated loads of times :P and as i said before i used to like radiohead and amazingly enough liked in rainbows so ......................

January 21, 201115 yr Author After In Rainbows, which one should I listen to next? The Bends, OK Computer, or Hail to the Thief?
January 21, 201115 yr After In Rainbows, which one should I listen to next? The Bends, OK Computer, or Hail to the Thief? I say either The Bends or OK Computer. Either one is fine.
January 21, 201115 yr HTTT. But it's really different. And a lot of people don't like it. edit: So okay maybe not. I just like it better than either The Bends or OKC.
January 21, 201115 yr carrie if u want the electronic/rock radiohead listen to kid A but if u want to listen to the rocky radiohead listen to the bends and ok computer
January 21, 201115 yr Yes, definitely OKC. I started with IR then went OKC and it worked well for me...
January 21, 201115 yr Author OK thanks OK Computer it is I'm still working on In Rainbows though so I'm not sure when I'll get it
January 21, 201115 yr I agree, ok computer is just great. It sounds even better on vinyl though
January 21, 201115 yr What cock suggested In Rainbows for your first CD? Awful choice, half those songs sound basically the same if you aren't fairly heavily into Radiohead (YES I SAID IT CUZ ITS TRUE). Just listen to The Bends, if you like guitar based rock music then it's perfect to start you off, very simple choice. OK Computers fine too but songs like Karma Police and Paranoid Android can take a while to get into, Bends is 100% easily accessible and remains a very good album (Though I do wonder why it gets so high in top 100 albums of all time lists).

Completely agree with that, that's actually the reason I hate In Rainbows. Although Paranoid Android was the first RH song I actually really loved. :P I only have Fake Plastic Trees from Bends. Maybe I should get more songs from there.
January 21, 201115 yr listen to the bends it has my favorite song in it [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKkr29EGc-Y&feature=related]high and dry[/ame]
January 21, 201115 yr [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-hViiJajJg&feature=related]YouTube - Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)[/ame] To me that's just a perfect song, and there aren't many I'd consider perfect. The albums full of big built up rock songs like this too: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrigGPOfNAU&feature=related]YouTube - Radiohead - Sulk[/ame]
January 21, 201115 yr The only song (album-version wise, of course there's this absolutely legendary live performance [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDS4wOd_o1I]YouTube - Radiohead Fake Plastic Trees Live @ Glastonbury 2003[/ame] needless to say) that I really really truly still love off The Bends is Street Spirit. Besides that I still basically like the album version of FPT and My Iron Lung, and the rest of the album doesn't do much for me, nor has it ever. edit: Basically what Reilly said about Street Spirit being a perfect song. I can't remember a time it came on shuffle and I didn't just stop what I was doing and immerse myself in its beauty, corny as it sounds.
